Youth Potentials Build the Linkage between Present and Future of Farming in India | Chapter 10 | Research Highlights in Agricultural Sciences Vol. 4

The progress and affluence of a nation depends mostly on the quality of human resource the country retains. The present youth are the style setters of future farming. India is the second most populous country in the experience, but with an average age of 29, it has individual of the youngest populations everywhere. As this vast reserve of young citizens enters the trained workers, it could create a ‘mathematical dividend’. A mathematical dividend is defined for one United Nations Population Fund as economic tumor resulting from a shift in a population’s age makeup, mainly when the occupied-age population is larger than the number of dependent. India is home to a fifth of the globe’s youth mathematical dividend and this population benefit could play a fault-finding role in achieving the country with its own government’s ambitious aim to become a US$ 5 trillion saving. During last one ten of something, rural India signed the continuous migration of country youth to city areas. This situation is very weighty and alarming and the transfer of rural youth generated a vacuum in the villages. It has existed observed and articulated by many enlightened persons that villages are flattering old age birthplaces draining away the gifted farm youth to refrain or stay away from from farming in India. There are more than 608 heap family farms about the world, occupying 'tween 70 and 80 percent of the realm's farmland and bearing around 80 percent of the globe's food in profit terms [1]. In the ancient India all family in each center was a single unit of result.  This ancient offspring occupation has got through over the ages through a process of transfer from father to son, generation to production. But in recent times, accompanying an exceptional externalization of culture and under pervasive influence of liberalization, privatization and proliferation, this process of transfer of occupational knowledge inside the community is critically dislocated. Most of the more immature generation sees very little to cherish in country life [2]. Thus country youth, in their formative age, seem to find their duty models elsewhere. In fact, the urban existence, so visible immediately-a-days, appears to entice them in many habits. As a result, in rural people, many things that were regarded as priceless in Indian social life appear to have suddenly become old-fashioned [3]. It is highly advantageous that this kind of human resource must be kept in farming by conceiving rural and city avenues favorable for farming growth and growth. The present paper highlights the opinion in three big headings namely new youth potentials, current situation of agriculture and youth in India and future of breeding and youth in India.
