Study on Wave Mechanism of Structure Formation in Cement Compositions | Chapter 03 | Novel Perspectives of Engineering Research Vol. 1

The development of novel physicochemical analysis tools has opened up a world of possibilities for understanding the kinetics and mechanisms of structure creation in cement systems. The research of structure creation and cement hardening processes will allow for a wider range of control approaches and the development of sophisticated composite material production procedures. The goal of this project is to use digital technology to investigate the mechanism of structure building processes. The creation of alternating dark and bright concentric rings on the surface and in the bulk of the specimens is studied using an X-ray microtomography device. The creation of concentric rings is thought to be induced by acoustic vibrations in the cement-water system during the early phases of structure formation.
