The efficacy and safety of Foley's bulb in conjunction with Misoprostol in the management of second trimester abortion, with a special focus on cervical injury, were investigated in a trial including 56 women who came for termination of pregnancy between 14 and 20 weeks of gestational age. An inflated Foleys bulb was used with traction pressure applied to the internal cervical os and Misoprostol 400 mcg was given vaginally every four hours. The duration of the induction abortion, the doses utilised, the extra techniques used, the adverse effects, and the problems encountered were all recorded. With little side effects, no major complications, and no cervical injury, the procedure was a complete success. The findings are compared to other studies in the literature.
