Study on Security and Privacy in Healthcare Data Mining | Chapter 10 | Issues and Development in Health Research Vol. 6

 Reviewing the fundamentals, components, and principles of healthcare information used to mine data, as well as applicable laws and regulations, to manage the privacy and security of healthcare information used to mine data. A literature analysis on technological concerns in privacy assurance is also included, as well as a case study highlighting some potential difficulties in data mining of personally identifiable information. Data mining, in particular when it collects data from many sources, presents unique challenges. This study included privacy and security best practises guidelines for medical data miners.
