Study about Glycated Hemoglobin - A Predictor of COVID Severity | Chapter 15 | Recent Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 5

 COVID-19 infected people are being treated by healthcare specialists all over the world. Diabetes has a deleterious effect on the prognosis of COVID-19 patients. Both hyper and hypoglycemia in hospitalised patients might predict negative outcomes; additionally, it causes chronic inflammation and numerous organ damage, which promotes oxidative stress and the release of inflammatory mediators. To lessen the severity of disease in diabetic individuals infected with COVID-19, glycemic management must be optimised. The impact of HbA1c on mortality in COVID-19 and T2DM patients is unknown. As a result, the current study focused on the relationship between HbA1c levels and COVID-19 severity in T2DM patients.
