The tourist industry, which is one of the world's fastest expanding, has emerged as a new economic development point in Guangdong, playing an increasingly vital role in the province's economic and cultural life. The development of folk tourism relies heavily on the development of tourism infrastructure. Folk tourism, which is a high-level kind of cultural tourism, has emerged as a key component of tourist behaviour and development. The "Nianli" is a one-of-a-kind folk activity found in Guangdong's west, particularly in Zhanjiang and Maoming. It's a case of a year, every year at the same time (it usually starts on the second day of the first lunar month), and a wide range of folk culture events. It is normally held in the village on its own (or temple). It combines religious observances with folk celebrations. This paper examines the development of "Nianli" folk tourism in western Guangdong to identify flaws in the development of folk tourism, as well as an in-depth examination of the cultural connotation of folklore activities in western Guangdong, and proposes measures for the development of religious folklore tourism products.
