Highlighting New Antiretrovirals on the Block: Pharmacological News from CROI 2017| Chapter 11| Trends in Pharmaceutical Research and Development Vol. 5

 Several new drugs for the treatment of HIV / AIDS were presented at the Conference on Retrovirus and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) 2017 in Seattle, USA. This analysis shows the most promising candidates and addresses the mechanism of action of new integrase strand inhibitors (INSTI), nucleoside (NRTI) and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase (NNRTI) as well as protease (PI) inhibitors, CCR5 inhibitors, long-acting antibodies or nano particulate PI and NNRTI (NANO-NNNRTI, NANO-PI) inhibitors, safety profile and possible drug-drug interactions.
