Preclinical Vaccinology | Book Publisher International

The book “Preclinical Vaccinology” was organized into four parts, eight sections and seventeen chapters. Part one, the platform was focused on the basics of infectology and vaccinology in two sections and six chapters. Part two the preclinical immunogenicity covers the burn infection vaccines and urinary infection vaccines in two sections, five chapters. Part three concentrated on monotypic preclinical vaccinology of;-gut infection vaccines, respiratory infection vaccines and uropathogen vaccines in three sections, five chapters. Part four was ensembled in one section, one chapter concerning the polytypic vaccines. The book was intended to serve freshman vaccinologists, vaccine researchers and postgraduate immunology students.

A Review on Healthcare System in Saudi Arabia: Opportunities and Obstacles | Chapter 4 | Disease and Health: Research Developments Vol. 9

Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge for many individuals, particularly in third-world countries. The ability to obtain healthcare services encompasses prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and the management of diseases, illnesses, disorders, and other health-impacting conditions. Like many nations, Saudi Arabia strives to deliver high-quality and cost-effective healthcare services to its population. In recent years, the overall health of the Saudi population has witnessed significant improvement. However, the healthcare system continues to face a range of complex mid- to long-term challenges. These challenges include the multifaceted roles of the Ministry of Health, limited financial resources, and evolving patterns of disease, among others. Healthcare services in Saudi Arabia are organized into four levels: primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary care.  Recognizing the importance of healthcare, the Saudi Arabian government has invested substantial resources to enhance the system, with the ultimate goal of providing free and accessible healthcare services for all Saudi citizens and expatriates working in the public sector. This review aims to provide an overview of the healthcare system in Saudi Arabia and examine the challenges it currently faces. In conclusion, the path forward involves not only financial investment but also fostering collaboration across governmental and non-governmental sectors to implement evidence-based policies. Leveraging expertise, advancing digital health solutions, and prioritizing public health education will be essential components in overcoming these obstacles. With careful planning and determination, Saudi Arabia is well-positioned to lead by example in healthcare innovation and provision, ensuring equitable access and improved health outcomes for all its residents.

Role of Bioactive Green Synthesized Nanoparticles in Various Diseases | Chapter 9 | Research Perspectives of Microbiology and Biotechnology Vol. 9

Nanoparticles (NPs) are transforming agents in biotechnology. The current strategies for diagnostics, targeted drug delivery and therapy may be offered through this transformational agent. The green synthesis of NPs, which may include those obtained from plant extracts, thereby outlining a sustainable and biocompatible approach to nanobiotechnology. This green synthesis method is much less harmful than chemical processes in the aspect of toxicity. It also makes the nanoparticle much more biocompatible and suitable for medical applications.

Integrated Surveillance Model for improving Completeness of Notifiable Disease Surveillance in Jaffna, Sri Lanka | Chapter 5 | Current Innovations in Disease and Health Research Vol. 5

Personal Hygiene in Public and Private Schools in an Urban Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria: A Comparative Study | Chapter 2 | Research Highlights in Disease and Health Research Vol. 4

Antimicrobial silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have become recognised as a strong and effective agent against infection because of their extremely tiny regulated sizes, large surface area, and better reactivity with active functional structures. After exposure, AgNPs attach to cells and enter the cells. They release reactive oxygen species (ROS), which damage membranes and deoxyribonucleic acids (DNAs), cause oxidative stress, protein malfunction, and alteration of signal transduction pathways. When a medicine is given into the body using AgNPs as the drug delivery vehicle, the surface-ligand coating ensures a prolonged drug release with fewer adverse effects. The primary focus of this review is on the synthesis, surface functionalization, mechanism of action, biomedical applications, therapeutic efficacies, toxicity, biodistribution, and elimination of AgNPs as potential nanomedicinal drug delivery systems for targeted therapy against infections and cancer.

Clinical Profile and Outcome of Patients in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in India | Chapter 18 | New Horizons in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 11

 The current study's objectives were to summarise the clinical characteristics and prognosis of our PICU patients and to identify potential changes that may be made to improve the prognosis of critically sick children. Pediatric critical care's main goal is to restore a child who is suffering from a life-threatening condition to health with the least amount of discomfort, worry, and difficulties, as well as to soothe and support the kid's family. This is a Hospital based, retrospective, descriptive research, in a tertiary care institution in puducherry, south India. Participants were children who were admitted to and received care in the paediatric ICU at Sri Venkateshwara Medical College Hospital and Research Center, Puducherry, between January 2019 and December 2019. According to this study, the most typical clinical profile seen was respiratory sickness and infectious disorders. Out of 345 kids brought to the paediatric intensive care unit, 303 (87.8%) were released as a result, it was reported. A total of 37 patients (or 10.7%) disobeyed medical advice, while 5 patients (or 1.4%) were referred at the parents' request. The study would like to suggest for additional comprehensive prospective investigations in future, with emphasis on the awareness of the most prevalent and developing unusual aetiology of patients referred to PICU.

Readiness of Community Pharmacists to Play a Supportive and Advocacy Role in the Fight against Corona Virus Disease: A Descriptive Cross-Sectional Study | Chapter 13 | Emerging Trends in Disease and Health Research Vol. 5

 Background: As the coronavirus illness pandemic continues to impose a strain on healthcare systems worldwide, it is vital to analyse whether every part of the healthcare system is ready to respond.

The study sought to determine whether community pharmacists in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are willing to assist in the fight against COVID-19.

The study employed a descriptive cross-sectional survey as its methodology. A descriptive analysis was used to identify the demographic characteristics of the sampled population, as well as frequency tables and graphs to determine the practise, readiness, attitudes, and knowledge of community pharmacists. The means of the subset of knowledge on COVID-19 aetiology, prognosis, and management, and the practise, attitudes were compared in a one-way analysis of variance to see if the difference was significant in predicting preparedness to play a supporting role in the battle against COVID-19.

Results: Adherence to the Ministry of Health's recommended recommendations for COVID-19 treatment and control as indicated by the practise of a community pharmacist. Approximately 74% cleaned all contact surfaces on a regular basis, and 69 percent performed basic temperature checks on personnel and consumers. Community pharmacists in Saudi Arabia viewed the fight against COVID-19 positively [m = 4.08, with a reasonably small difference in percentage distribution between those who were doubtful and those who claimed to be extremely satisfied (20 percent).] Community pharmacists in KSA revealed considerable awareness of COVID-19, as all respondents (100%) were aware of the basic symptoms of COVID-19, 62 percent were aware of COVID-19 management options, and 81 percent considered the ministry's material was adequate. A p value of 0.00 suggested that the findings were significant enough to support the hypothesis that community pharmacists in KSA were eager to help battle COVID-19.

Conclusion: The data show that Saudi Arabian community pharmacists are prepared to participate in COVID-19 pandemic preparation and response.

The Effect of Pests and Their Co – Infections on Senior High School Students in the Greater Kumasi: A Study of Some Selected Senior High Schools | Chapter 09 | Innovations in Science and Technology Vol. 4

 The most prevalent mammals on the earth are pests, insects, and rodents. These mammals are responsible for the transmission of more than 200 diseases to humans and animals all over the world. They do significant damage to a wide range of structures. Because resources that would otherwise be spent for development projects are diverted to avoid hospitalisation and manage outbreaks, epidemics and diseases have a substantial economic impact on a country's economy. Infected invasive mosquito species have been found to increase in both local and worldwide borders as a result of escalating environmental changes. The goals of this chapter were to look at the most common boarding house pests that cause the most problems for students, to identify pest infestations and disease-causing agents, and to learn how pests are controlled using chemicals, physical, mechanical, and biological methods, as well as integrated pest management. Respondents were studied using a descriptive research approach. The study used a sample size (n) of 227 respondents. The approaches utilised were simple random sampling, purposive sampling, and stratified sampling. Respondents were asked to fill out a questionnaire. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences was used to collect and analyse data (SPSS). Descriptive statistics were used to analyse the data. The majority (74.1 percent) of students have complained of pest and insect-borne ailments, with the bulk of these insects and rodents appearing in bedrooms (43.8 percent), kitchens (26.4 percent), and classrooms (13.4 percent). This chapter, on the other hand, suggests that the Ghana Education Service take immediate efforts to avoid the spread of pests and insects, such as repairing windows or leisure areas, nets and windows, and doors, and spraying regularly.
