Improving Corrective Factor Approach through the Application of Mixed Quadrature for Numerical Evaluation of Fractional Integrals | Chapter 1 | Research Updates in Mathematics and Computer Science Vol. 8

The generalization of ordinary differentiation and integration to arbitrary (non-integer) order is known as fractional calculus. Recently, fractional calculus has been applied in various areas of engineering, science, finance, economics, fluid dynamics, bio-engineering and others. In this paper, we improved the corrective factor approach using a mixed quadrature rule for numerical integration of fractional integral of order 𝛼, 0 < 𝛼 < 1.
