Ostensibly Healthy Forerunners of Non-communicable Diseases (NCD) from Rural KONKAN, India| Chapter 10 | Current Overview on Disease and Health Vol. 7

 KONKAN domain in the western Indian state of Maharashtra has supported undernutrition for many decades. In spite of this non-communicable diseases act the rise. BKL Walawalkar Hospital launched in 1996 has produce lot of dispassionate and epidemiological evidence to demonstrate the vicinity of undernutrition across life course which as per Developmental Origins of Health and Disease theory could be a forerunner to onset of adult non-able to be contracted diseases in KOKAN. Poor body bulk index or thinness signifying poor food has been noticed in this community from before birth to adult life. Our dossier has also proved poor fetal tumor, high predominance of low birthweight and weak growth in early infancy in the region. Considering that adolescent girls are future founders, there is an imperative need to focus on adolescent ending. Adolescence could be the second window of event Our work of last 2 decades has laid to starting of a DERVAN cohort study between adolescent girls in the domain and it is expected to throw the come to rest on disease any branch of natural science of non-communicable afflictions in KONKAN region of Maharashtra. This review summarizes our help last 2 decades.
