An Approach to Statistical Analyses of ASE Noise

By solving the Fokker-Planck equation including the dispersion effect, the evolution of ASE noise and the generation of nonlinear phase shift are analysed based on the travelling wave solution of ASE noise and its probability density function. Nonlinear effects have a powerful effect on ASE noise. The nonlinear influence on ASE noise is usually overlooked. In fact, the signal transmitted along is so powerful and acts on the ASE noise via nonlinear effect. The slight adjustment may then add a distinct change to the ASE noise and counteract the signal process again. Due to the nonlinear effect, ASE noise is enhanced after transmission into non-zero dispersion change fibres + dispersion compensation fibres. The actual portion of ASE decreases in detail, but the image portion increases dramatically compared to the dispersion effect alone.
