Study on Synthesis and Antioxidant Property of 2-arylbenzimidazole Scaffolds | Chapter 12 | Novel Aspects on Chemistry and Biochemistry Vol. 8

Benzimidazoles accompanying plethora of biological requests are identified as main motifs for the advance of innovative drug design, accordingly grabbing the attention of curative chemists around the planet. Especially, 2-arylbenzimidazoles and its derivatives are acting a vital role in curative chemistry accompanying broad range of biological applications. This phase summarizes the synthesis, description of ten 2-arylbenzimidazoles (3a-j) and evaluation of artificial antioxidant activities using DPPH free radical scavenging assay. All of the chemical compound obtained shown forceful antioxidant activity.
