In the Indian subcontinent, there are more than 3000 officially recognized plants with significant medical use. Neolamarckia cadamba (Roxb.) Bosser, an evergreen tropical tree in the Rubiaceae family, is one such understudied species. It is abundant in tropical and subtropical areas of the world and has the ability to treat a wide range of illnesses, including cancer, diabetes, anemia, stomatitis, leprosy, and infectious infections. Neolamarckia cadamba has a long history in India, and mythological tales refer to it. There are several studies on the medical benefits of N. cadamba's root, bark, and leaves, but there is little information available on the plant's fruits. In order to give current, thorough information on the phytochemistry and pharmacological characteristics of various N. cadamba tree sections with particular emphasis on its fruit, in order to provide fresh views for next gastronomic and pharmaceutical studies [2,3].
