This research examines "red culture" from three angles: its historical context, contemporary significance, and representations. It looks at the circumstances behind the development of "red culture" during China's socialist building, democratic revolution, and reform and opening-up. The term "red culture" refers to the "red legacies" and "red spirit" that have developed during China's revolution, construction, and reform under the direction of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in order to achieve independence from foreign rule, economic development, cultural prosperity, and national renewal. The CPC's source of power is a constellation of spirits and historical locations. In a globalised world, "red culture" helps the Chinese people become more conscious of the need to protect against cultural imperialism while preserving and promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture. It also serves as a catalyst for the growth of a solid sense of cultural identity and a vibrant socialist culture with Chinese features.
