This paper discusses how to improve mathematics teaching in Brazilian schools using Seymour Papert's Constructionism and information technology tools. This work, in particular, introduces the constructionist microworld, a digital environment in which students can build their knowledge interactively, in this case using the dynamic mathematics software GeoGebra. Papert's constructionism provides a flexible framework for implementing pedagogical models with computers.
