Metaphorical Projection in Iraqi Media Discourse and Its Conceptual Connotations | Chapter 13 | Recent Research Advances in Arts and Social Studies Vol. 1

 The study attempts to explain how symbol are utilized in Iraqi media discourse and by virtue of what those concepts are metaphorically discharged on Iraqi political and social issues. Metaphor is the purposes behind a linguistic verbalization launched by the builder of the discourse, and an explanation of the unseen purposes of the speech directed to the hearing that was made. Many metaphorically planed terminology acquired from different media or additional sciences were employed by Iraqi editors working in Iraqi publishing after the American attack of Iraq in 2003 to depict political questions and the status "these conditions need to be investigated to show what their aims are because. The means used in the present inquiry is the survey method. The detective also uses controlled attention to gather dossier regarding metaphors appropriated from foreign radio and from other sizes. A number of metaphors that are noticed used by Iraqi radio are either semantically and qualitatively analyzed by the scientist. The metaphors selected by Iraqi media have been used to concern various intentions prior to borrowing. The scientist also secondhand a sample of three influential newspapers accompanying contrasting flows: Asabah, Azaman, and Tareeq Ashanti. The study reached a number of results, ultimate prominent of that are: The discourse of the Iraqi print, audio and visual radio resorted to representing the political and social matter in approximate terms whose ideas were borrowed from various sciences and information due to the failure of these media to depict the occurrences that Iraq witnessed afterwards 4/9/2003 using media dictionary.  The dropping of ideas that were borrowed from other information in the Iraqi media discourse in detailing the Iraqi reality was partial and was not of long period of time, meaning that reaching the goal of representation and similarity of the meaning in the appropriated terms was temporary and used away subsequently a period of time had passed because its use cause it did not express the original meaning. Which it was before the appropriating.
