Studies on Eco Friendly Management of Mycoflora Associated with Trichosanthes anguina L. and Trichosanthes dioica Roxb. | Chapter 2 | Recent Research Advances in Biology Vol. 3

 Vegetables are plant components that are eaten as food by humans and as part of a savoury course or meal. Trichosanthes anguina L. is among all the vegetables. (Gourd of the snake) and Trichosanthes dioica Roxb. (Pointed gourd) is very common. An investigation into the control of fungi associated with two common Bangladeshi vegetables has been carried out. Anguina trichosanthes L. Uh, and T. Roxb Dioica. Throughout the duration from June to December, 2014. Fresh vegetables were apparently collected from five local markets in Dhaka City, near the Dhaka University campus. After harvest, within 3-4 days of short storage, the vegetables are infected with fungi. Fungi associated with the samples were extracted from the samples using the PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) medium 'Tissue Planting' process. Seven fungal species, namely, Aspergillus flavus, A. A. Fumigatus. It was discovered that niger, Fusarium sp., Penicillium sp., Rhizopus stolonifer and Trichoderma viride were associated with the vegetables described above. The prevalent fungi associated with the snake gourd and the pointed gourd were Aspergillus niger. Present observations suggest that A. Niger is the primary fungus associated with each of the Karwan bazaar's collected vegetables. To regulate the extraction of fungi from three plants, namely Allium cepa, A. In order to evaluate their effect on radial growth, sativum and Zingiber officinale and two chemicals, namely sodium bicarbonate and sodium chloride, were selected for seven species of fungi isolated from fresh vegetables. Allium sativum extract and both chemicals demonstrated 100 percent radial growth inhibition at 20 percent concentrations of isolated fungi.
