Power Plants and Cycles: Advances and Trends | Book Publisher International

The above method consists of converting heat into useful mechanical work, both by adding heat from a source to a thermal working fluid and by removing heat from the thermal working fluid to a heat sink, where the added heat is converted by expansion of the thermal working fluid into mechanical work, while the extracted heat is converted into mechanical work by contraction of the thermal working fluid. A collection of more than 35 thermal cycles allowed to operate with the two described thermal machine structures is produced in order to achieve a thermal efficiency superior to that obtained with the most advanced conventional techniques. Therefore, this book will provide the knowledge and tool of design and implementation of highly efficient thermal cycles at effective cost, absolutely unknown until now. There is a great need for spreading the material described in this book because on the one hand, the theoretical and practical concepts described are matured and ready, and on the other hand there is a great need for providing the technological capacity to implement the required transition from fossil fuels towards non-harmful environmental technologies, that dramatically reduce global warming and environment deterioration. A collection of more than 35 thermal cycles allowed to operate with the two described thermal machine structures is produced in order to achieve a thermal efficiency superior to that achieved with the most advanced conventional techniques.
