Exploring the Potential of Applying Intelligent Buildings (IBs) Features to Enhance Office Buildings' Performance in Yemen | Chapter 6 | Engineering Research: Perspectives on Recent Advances Vol. 4

The evaluation of the IB concept was based on the requirements and definitions of many institutes and countries that consider building intelligence, such as the Intelligent Building Institute (IBI), the European Intelligent Building Group (EIBG), and the Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings (AIIB). The emergence of Intelligent Buildings (IBs) in the early 1980s marked a qualitative leap in the architecture field. These buildings represent the pinnacle of scientific and technical progress humanity has reached in architecture. IB has an integrated intelligent system that can recognize, make decisions, and respond to variables on its own, in addition to achieving sustainability. With these new concepts in the architecture field, in Yemen, buildings are still traditional in their performance, where individual systems are used. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the possibility of applying the characteristics of IBs to Yemeni buildings, especially office buildings, to enhance these buildings' performance in order to improve the employees' productivity. To achieve this aim, the study reviewed the characteristics of IBs and the reality of architecture and informatics in Yemen. The Central Organization for Control and Accounting (COCA) case study building was analyzed to represent the contemporary office buildings in Yemen by reviewing its architectural plans, field visits, and interviewing the information technology (IT) management specialist. The study revealed that office buildings in Yemen are suitable for applying the characteristics of IBs, such as intelligent systems (automated lighting, security systems, etc.). These applications can help enhance employee productivity and office building performance in terms of energy efficiency, lowering operational costs, contributing to environmental sustainability, etc. However, the study has limitations, including its focus on a single case study, potential data limitations, and the influence of Yemen's current political and economic context. The case study needs improvements for the building's digital infrastructure, and the information and communication technology (ICT) in Yemen must be updated. Many studies are needed to cover the different aspects of IBs, such as envelopes, materials, etc., in addition to understanding the challenges in applying the IBs' characteristics, the opportunities they provide in improving the buildings' performance in Yemen, and the importance of applying the IBs' characteristics for users (occupants, employees, patients, people with special needs, etc.).

This aim of this phase is to undertake a review of the earlier CTI research that has already happened conducted. The Internet of things (IoT) depicts devices accompanying sensors, processing ability, spreadsheet and other sciences that connect and exchange data accompanying other instruments and systems over the Internet or additional communications networks. The Internet of things surrounds electronics, ideas and computer science engineering. Internet of belongings has been thought-out a misnomer because devices do not need expected connected to all internet, they only need to be affiliated to a network, and be individually addressable. In current fast changing threat countryside, which is arising at a rapid rate, various firms are constantly put in risk by complex and malicious computerized assaults. Cybercriminals nowadays are more knowledgeable, reasonable, and wealthy than earlier. CTI, or Cyber Threat Intelligence, has become a hot issue and is immediately being looked at by many trades as a viable countermeasure to the rise in cyberattacks. The most fundamental question about what CTI is examined through the process of doing a biography study. This is done by divergent several definitions in order to label areas of compromise and disagreement. It has been found that neither the organization nor the suppliers have a inclusive grasp of the information that is considered to be CTI; therefore, further study is required so that define CTI. This item also listed existent CTI products and duties, including as warning intelligence data feeds, warning intelligence guidelines, and tools that are being utilized in CTI. This study outlines four research issues in high-tech threat judgment and assesses contemporary work completed activity in each of those areas. Following a review of the CTI way, norms, and technology, various challenges were identified. The necessity for skilled warning data analysts who can sufficiently exploit CTI and turn the data into beneficial information increases as soon as a trade is bombarded accompanying a significant volume of danger data. Even though the issue of weak data quality is previously owned, further research in this area should given the growing use of CTI.

A Quantitative Study: Using the Latin Square Design Model in the Prioritization of Network Security Threats | Chapter 7 | New Ideas Concerning Science and Technology Vol. 1

As the same computer networks become increasingly important to organisational business processes, cyber criminals continue to target organisational computer networks. In the business and government planning process, strategic planning and addressing IT security threats play an important role. This quantitative study examines whether it is possible to effectively apply the Latin Square Design (LSD) model to the prioritisation of cybersecurity threats and to relate in-depth measures of information assurance protection to those threats. The methods used in this study consisted of scanning 10 cybersecurity websites such as the US CERT (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team) Department of Homeland Security and the SANS Institute (SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security) using the Likert Scale Model for the top ten list of cyber threats facing organisations on the website and in-depth network defence steps to combat them. In order to decide whether the Likert scale and the LSD model could be effectively implemented to prioritise information assurance steps to secure organisational computing devices, a comparison of each cyber security vulnerability was then made using LSD. The study results refute the H0 null hypothesis that LSD does not affect the relationship between the top ten cybersecurity threat based variables rating of 10 cybersecurity websites and the independent safety variables in depth measures used to defend organisational devices against cyber-attacks.

Reducing Threats by Using Bayesian Networks to Prioritize and Combine Defense in Depth Security Measures| Chapter 6 | New Ideas Concerning Science and Technology Vol. 1

This paper analysed whether the Bayesian Network Model (BNM) can be effectively used to prioritise in-depth security tools and procedures for protection and to combine those steps to reduce cyber threats. A balance between the defence capability and cost , efficiency, and operational considerations is recommended by the strategy. The methods used in this study were to search 24 peer-reviewed cybersecurity papers from leading cybersecurity journals using the Likert Scale Model for the article's list of in-depth safety measures (tools and procedures) and the risks to be mitigated by those measures. In order to see if the Likert scale and the Bayesian Network Model could be effectively implemented to prioritise and combine steps to minimise cyber attacks against organisational and private computing networks, the security tools and procedures were then compared. The study results refute the H0 null hypothesis that the relationship between the prioritisation and the combination of 24 Cybersecurity Article safety instruments and procedures (independent variables) and cyber threats (dependent variables) is not influenced by BNM.
