Increasing Agricultural Productivity by Building Capacity among Peasants in Mbozi District, Tanzania | Chapter 9 | Agricultural Sciences: Techniques and Innovations Vol. 1

Capacity building in the agriculture sector is crucial for Tanzania because the sector has been playing an important role as a key driver for the economic growth of the nation since its independence. Different strategies for capacity building have been adopted by the country to raise agricultural productivity. Numerous studies have looked into capacity-building tactics and how they affect agricultural output. However, little is known about how capacity building might increase agricultural output in developing nations. This study provided an opportunity to examine capacity building and how it affects Tanzanian agricultural productivity. It specifically examined the association between capacity building and agricultural productivity in Mbozi District, identified the strategies for capacity building for agricultural productivity in Mbozi District and underlined the mechanisms through which capacity building translates into productivity gains in Tanzania, a case of Mbozi District. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the study's data collection and analysis. The primary data was collected by administering questionnaires to 300 (200 males and 100 females) peasants in November 2020. Interviews, observations, and an examination of documents were used to gather data.

The Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 20, was used to examine descriptive and inferential statistics gathered from 300 peasants. Qualitative data was analysed using a content analysis approach, which aided in quantitative data measurement and reasoning. With the employment of contemporary farming, harvesting, and storage techniques, capacity building affects agricultural productivity, according to a p-value of 0.000. The study revealed that inadequate or absent capacity-building strategies contribute to low productivity, while well-implemented strategies—including training in modern farming, harvesting, and storage techniques—lead to substantial improvements. The study also revealed that knowledge of agricultural production among peasants was low, and that is why productivity remains low despite enough fertile soil in the district. The observations also showed that strategies like training and farm field schools were insufficient in the region due to the large number of peasants. This was mostly remarked in the rural areas in the sense that many strategies were more centred in the urban areas compared to rural areas, with a large number of peasants and endowed with much potential for production. Stakeholders advocate the use of the best seeds, skills on edaphic factors, equipment, farm field schools, and research and workshops as strategies in capacity building. In addition, the involvement of academia, researchers, and political leaders increased agricultural productivity. These results imply that raising productivity requires a combination of different individuals, private and public institutions. Therefore, capacity building is inevitable among peasants in order to raise productivity. It is recommended that impact assessment be incorporated because it helps in reviewing and amending land and agricultural policies. Online training is recommended as an alternative to the shortage of trainers to build capacity among more peasants.

Capacity Building for Training Technical Specialists through STEAM Education: A Review of the Research | Chapter 5 | Research Highlights in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 4

The present study displayed that STEAM education practices perform to include procedures for developing fault-finding and creative thinking, professional communication and cooperation skills, and mixing various fields of information. Study also reports the verdicts of the research project on training engineers through STEAM instruction conducted at Kazakhstan’s Saginov Technical University (‘STU’) and subsidized by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Grant No. AR09260338). One of the most main disciplines that provides to the development of main competencies in STEAM coaches is digital education; this discipline is fixated on the formation of students’ abilities in the field of mathematical consumption, the use of mathematical technologies, and mathematical security. The system of planning higher education in Kazakhstan persists to have weaknesses in the areas of intercultural ideas and teamwork, the growth of critical thinking, and utilizing the creative process to answer professional tasks. The problem performs to be overcome incompletely by STEAM education. It was possible to generate several STEAM approaches for contemporary engineering instruction by conducting an far-reaching study of the global occurrence and developing approaches for integrating STEAM into the educational process at Kazakhstani academies based on multifactor SWOT study.

An Approach for Capacity Building: A Timeless Managerial Responsibility for Achieving Organization’s Success in Akwa Ibom State | Chapter 8 | New Innovations in Economics, Business and Management Vol. 2

Capacity building is a deliberate strategic approach used to address transition difficulties in organisations, and it is generally considered as a medium- and long-term plan for dealing with large changes in the organization's environment. In order to keep up with the frequent changes caused by today's complex and multidimensional business environment, this study described strategy as a timeless activity that management must engage in after continuous monitoring and evaluation of the operational environment. The study used a survey design. In Uyo, Nigeria, data was collected from fifty middle and senior management professionals of public interest organisations. The sample was chosen with care. The data was analysed using measures of central tendency such mean, standard deviation, and simple percentage. The findings show that if organisations are to prosper, they must have a long-term capacity-building strategy. As a result, it is recommended that proper monitoring and assessment be undertaken on a regular basis to validate the need for capacity building, allowing organisations to remain competitive and effective while not reacting to changes in a fire-brigade fashion. This is because complex organisations tend to deteriorate into chaos in the absence of efficient capacity-building programmes, putting their very existence in jeopardy.

Investigation of the Impact of Extension Interventions on Capacity Building of Tribal Backyard Poultry Owners in Mandla of Madhya Pradesh | Chapter 6 | Current Strategies in Economics and Management Vol.6

The study investigates the impact of extension interventions on capacity building of tribal backyard

poultry owners in randomly selected six villages of Narayanganj and Niwas blocks of Mandla district
by Random proportionate sampling (RPS) method. Data were collected through a structured interview
schedule from 60 respondent’s (30 from each block) tribal poultry owners by personal interview
method and they were analysed using percentage frequency and chi-square. Suitable extension
interventions like group discussion, awareness cum animal health treatment camps, exposure visits,
training programmers were applied in the study areas. The capacity building of poultry owners were
measured on the basis of improvement in knowledge and change in attitude towards scientific poultry
farming practices. The chi-square test was applied ‘before’ and ‘after’ interventions of various
extension strategies. The study showed a significant improvement in the knowledge and attitude of
tribal poultry owners after extension interventions. It concluded that the capacity building of poultry
