Awareness about Genetics and Genetic Disorders among Medical Students | Chapter 8 | Advanced Concepts in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 7

This chapter discusses awareness of medical genetics and genetic disorders primarily among medical professionals at the early carrier stage. The chapter discusses the recent epidemiological evidence about genetic disorders globally as well as in India before emphasizing the need to raise awareness about genetic disorders among medical professionals as well as the general population. It also highlights the implications of medical professionals having limited awareness about genetic disorders and some suggestions that might enhance the discussion of medical genetics in the curriculum.
