Gingiva refers to the form present in the oral crater that surrounds the tooth. Just Like a sane healthy gingiva lives, so do exists the gingival inflammation. Occasionally the inflammation of gingiva leads to the condition named as gingival enlargement or gingival hyperplasia. Gingival enlargement is provoked by various environments like because of inflammation, gestation, puberty, pertaining to food deficiency, leukemia, and sometimes all the while orthodontic treatment. All along the phase of Orthodontic treatment, most of the inmates find it difficult to uphold their oral cleanliness as a result of which skilled is plaque growth which results either in gingival inflammation, that if not discussed on time can eventually leads to gingival expansion resulting in suprabony pockets or pseudopockets establishment. Gingivectomy is the treatment of choice for this type of gingival enlargement as it helps in the decline or elimination of pseudopockets, suprabony pockets, that is common in orthodontic induced gingival increase. This Chapter had concentrated light on what are the indications, contraindications of gingivectomy and the gingivectomy process to manage the gingival increase for the patient at the time of Orthodontic Treatment.
