Quality Evaluation of Selected Drug in Pharmaceutical Formulations by Spectrophotometric Estimation of Imatinib Mesylate in Pure and Tablet Dosage Form| Chapter 7 | Current Overview on Pharmaceutical Science Vol. 1

For the decision of imatinib mesylate in both allure pure and tablet measure forms, a simple and impressionable spectrophotometric approach has been settled. Imatinib mesylate is a white crystalline powder. The submitted approach is founded on the calculation of ultraviolet light absorption in water purified by distillation. The UV spectrum of Imatinib mesylate in distilled water displayed λmax at 256 nm. Beer’s standard is valid in the aggregation range of 2-12 μg/ml. In terms of precision, veracity, ruggedness, and strength, this method has been corroborated. The procedure is reproducible and discriminating for the estimation of the likely drug, according to statistical reasoning.
