Rice Production in Vietnam: Characteristics and Application of Chitosan| Chapter 2 | Cutting Edge Research in Biology Vol. 2

This work decides the suitable process for preparing chitosan answer, and focuses on its applications in edible grain production, in particular concerning its activity suspiciously system of plants and growth supporter to increase rice production. Preparing chitosan answers from shrimp shells for edible grain production was investigated. The chitosan created from shrimp shells utilizing dilute acetic acid confirmed effective in controlling plants contamination by microbial agents leading to bigger yields. The field data of our studies showed that the yields of edible grain significantly increased (~31%) subsequently applying chitosan resolution. In general, applying chitosan increased edible grain production and reduced cost of result significantly. Chitosan and chitosan solutions groomed by the proposed patterns are more environmentally friendly, at low cost and maybe applied at a large scale for volume production of rice and possibly for different agricultural plants.
