Since White's observations in 1741, chronic anterior dislocations of the shoulder have been documented. Because to the long-standing unreduced humeral head, such patients show changes in the wounded tissues (fibrosis, neo-articulation, muscle contracture, capsular, ligamentous, bone, and tendon lesions). We believe that the clinical status of these instances, as well as the various lesion patterns seen in them, exclude the necessity for conservative treatment or traditional open operations. Treatment decisions are also based on clinical symptoms; patients with little disability are not decreased.
Methods: The study looked at 53 non-randomized cases in which the dislocation lasted at least three weeks in patients aged 20 to 75. The 53 patients were divided into three groups according on their treatment options: conservative, closed reduction, and open reduction.
Results: The findings were analysed in accordance with Rowe's findings for chronic unreduced shoulder dislocation. The overall score for the 49 percent of patients who had open management was 74 points on average. We used a modified Boytchev approach in four cases, and the aggregate rating units averaged 81 points.
Conclusion: The overall prognosis for surgical therapy has improved as a result of these findings.
