The purpose of this work is to describe the results of a study of a relatively novel combination approach for the treatment of AA. We used a combination of high negative pressure microdermabrasion (MD) and intralesional steroid (ILST) injections in our research. We also compared the outcomes of this combination to the findings of ILST alone. Alopecia Areata (AA) is an autoimmune disorder that affects the hair-bearing regions of the skin. In recent years, the prevalence of alopecia areata has increased. Both men and women are affected by this disorder, which affects 0.1-0.2 percent of the population. AA affects persons who appear to be in good health and do not have any skin problems. Oral and injectable steroids, as well as local irritants like capsicum lotion, topical steroids, and oral immuno suppressants, are already in use. Recurrence is common, and hair regrowth is variable, either uniform or bushes-like.
