Implementation of Green Neighbourhood Initiatives in Malaysia | Chapter 8 | Recent Advances in Science and Technology Research Vol. 6

 

Green community is a community that follows a way of life to fulfil the requirements of the activities of people. This practise also allows convenient access to homes , offices, infrastructure , public utilities, transportation services and community services. The aim of the paper is to research the implementation of green neighbourhood initiatives in Putrajaya, Selangor and Johor and to identify their sustainability elements in the Green Action Plans. Local authorities' action plans and initiatives in the form of the Green Neighbourhood Initiative have been outlined in a structure. The methodology of this report was based on a paper review of green city and community projects carried out in the research areas and is outlined in the intervention or programme tabulation. The research Each study area indicated that, by implementing impressive programmes and strategies such as the introduction of pedestrian walkways, cycling lanes, urban farming, rainwater harvesting, composting and others, each study area has developed its own sustainable approaches and strategies. By creating a detailed action plan, municipal authorities and private organisations will contribute their contribution to the implementation of the Green Neighborhood. In conclusion, the introduction of green neighbourhoods in Putrajaya, Selangor and Johor as steps for present and future growth.
