The purpose of this paper is not to find the Ebrí methods for calculating bone age and predicted adult height, nor to present new findings, which are already accepted by the scientific community and published. A historical review of the calculation methods of bone age and adult height prediction was discussed in the paper. The importance of knowing bone maturation and its importance in pediatrics and endocrinology are highlighted in this paper. The authors provide a new numerical method to calculate bone age through the carpal, metacarpal and carpalmetacarpal index, as well as to predict the child's adult height. Both transversal and longitudinal studies have been developed in the Spanish and Swiss populations. This methodology can be applied to any population group to study, so it can be used in clinical methods instead of Greulich and Pyle, and Tanner Whitehouse. In this sense, standards for Latin American children can be created. In this article, the authors also refer to the Ebrí computer program for calculating bone age and predicting adult height, which, along with instructions for its use, can be downloaded free of charge from the website of the Illustrious College of Physicians of Zaragoza (Spain) www.comz.org/maduracion-osea.
