Analysis of Accounting Multipliers for the Mexican Economy | Chapter 2 | Insights into Economics and Management Vol. 8

What are the economic practises with the highest direct accounting multiplier, the ones that have the greatest effect on households, and which income decile do they affect the most? What is the most intense economic operation carried out from the homes? To address these issues, we suggest a social accounting matrix for Mexico and derive the accounting multipliers from it (direct, crossed and cyclical). The manufacturing of petroleum and coal derivatives (1.3295) has the highest direct multiplier, followed by the mining of metallic minerals (1.1977), the manufacture of audio and video equipment (1.1846), and the manufacture of essential chemicals (1.1846).
