The present study focused on the development of blended yarns made from pruned ashoka plant-waste material using ashoka bast fibres, the usefulness of which was hardly explored for the purpose. Due to the harsh and warm tactile properties that mimic wool, it is concluded that the extracted fibres were ideal for blending with wool. The chemically extracted ashoka fibres were found to be adequate for the production of heavyweight fabrics such as blazers, jackets and stoles for home textiles and clothing applications.
