Brand owners realise that to be relevant in the modern market, they need to transition and focus more on the online market. However, many brand owners have ignored the power of search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy for attracting the online market, which is highly competitive and faces rapid changes. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) brings creativity and improves a website's visibility that enable online entrepreneurs to increase users’ traffic. Various studies have analysed factors that can enhance the persistence of using the SEO strategy, however gaps remain regarding the relationship of this strategy with online brand positioning. The main aim of this study is to identify the persistency of using the SEO strategy including the niche point of differentiation, valuable content, targeted keyword and scalable link building, as the determinants that enhance the success of online brand positioning.

Methods: This study applies quantitative design using an online survey to gather information from the online business entrepreneurs. The survey questionnaire was arranged to focus on the use of SEO as a new way to strategise online business.

Results: Based on the results of this study, most online entrepreneurs have somewhat realised the effects of using the SEO strategy to enhance the effectiveness of online brand positioning. Online entrepreneurs must acknowledge the importance of dependency on the SEO strategy to launch brand campaigns, so that the target audience can choose their brand despite the competition.

Conclusion: This research provides insights into the importance of SEO strategy in online business positioning. It is hoped that online entrepreneurs will consider the SEO strategy in the positioning of their brand in the marketplace.

A Narrative Review on the Impact of Digital Pedagogy on Psychological Wellbeing of Students during Global Pandemic | Chapter 1 | Progress in Language, Literature and Education Research Vol. 9

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has gravely impacted the education system across the world. The imposition of the worldwide lockdown in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus has led to the unprecedented shutting down of educational institutions. The UNESCO report suggests that nearly 90% of the student population has been hit by coronavirus during the month of April 2020. The migration of the teaching learning process to online mode during the pandemic has posed a plethora of difficulties and challenges for young students across the world. It highlights the difficulties faced by students and the stress on the education system during times of medical health emergencies and lockdown situations in the past. The primary objective of this study is to undertake a narrative review of studies assessing the impact of the lockdown crisis on student well-being and education.

Methods: Keyword searches of PubMed and Google Scholar databases led to the identification of 25 studies for the present review.

Results: Studies (n = 25) exploring the students’ experience of lockdown and the impact of pandemic situations on their education were identified. Analysis of the results of these studies revealed the following main themes: Impact on students’ mental health, causes of deteriorated mental health of students: multiple heterogeneous stressors, socio-economic divide in education, gendered impact of epidemics and impact on the educational system: challenges of e-learning.

Conclusion: Lockdown situations not only disrupt the normal study routine of students and cause a slowdown in their learning curve, it also creates a significant mental burden causing adverse impacts on their mental health. The lack of appropriate technological devices and the lack of sufficient internet bandwidth has deepened the educational divide. Remote education systems have proven inadequate in replicating the chalk-and-talk methodologies of teachers. The study suggested future direction including teachers should be professionally trained and motivated to upgrade their pedagogy to meet the demands arising from the shift to online education.

Impact of COVID-19 on the Mental Health of Students in Japan: A Literature Review | Chapter 6 | Recent Updates in Disease and Health Research Vol. 1

This chapter provides an overview of stress and mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and suicidality, among students in Japan during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic by searching databases and reviewing studies of this topic. The COVID-19 pandemic has substantially impacted the mental health of students worldwide, disrupted routine education, and caused psychological distress, leading to an increase in the number of suicides in this population. In addition to the fear of infection, the lack of awareness related to COVID-19 preventive measures and the limited communication with others caused by self-isolation and restrictions on movement and activities have negatively affected the mental health of students. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the emergence of reports of its negative impact on mental health worldwide. These repercussions are predicted to be strong among students, as this population is vulnerable to emotional stress because of the psychological challenges associated with the transition to adulthood. However, the data regarding the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of students are insufficient. This chapter provides insights into the stress that developed among students during the COVID-19 pandemic, and its findings can be used to effectively identify and support students who may struggle during future pandemics and crises. In particular, educators may use the results of this study to prevent negative effects on mental health and promote the future academic achievements, general well-being, efficacy, and empowerment of students in this new-normal post-COVID-19 pandemic era.
