Role of Oil Pulling on Oral Health: An Overview | Chapter 5 | An Overview of Disease and Health Research Vol. 8

 

Oil pulling is a powerful and detoxifying Ayurvedic technique. It is an alternative medical practice in which an edible oil is swished around the mouth for a period of time and then spat out, similar to mouthwash. This chapter presents the role of oil pulling in oral health. Chronic use of mouth rinses containing phenol and other agents, such as chlorohexidine gluconate, used in taking care of the oral cavity, stains the teeth. Also, microorganisms in the oral cavity consist of a single cell covered with a lipid membrane, which, when it comes in contact with some of the oil used in oil pulling, adheres to it to achieve its oral cleansing. The results of studies conducted show that some of the oils, such as coconut oil, sesame oil, and sunflower oil, used in oil pulling therapy can reduce dental plaque, prevent gingivitis, halitosis, dental caries and other dental conditions. This is due to its antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antioxidant properties. Outside of offering several oral health benefits, it also contributes positively to overall health with minimal side effects when practised as recommended. Being one of the cheapest, cost-effective, safe, easy and efficient ways to control oral diseases, it should be used as a supplemental oral hygiene aid. It was recommended that oral health professionals should incorporate some of these products into patients’ oral hygiene materials. Additionally, these products should be made in a form that will be handy for patients.

Transgenderism, Schizophrenia and Neurosis: Brain Abnormality or Coping Mechanisms? | Book Publisher International

Transgender individuals suffer from serious psycho-physiological problems. There is no empirical base for the belief that transgenderism is the consequence of brain abnormality. Studies challenge the validity of traditional theories of psychopathology, including the idea that the brain is the key to understanding behavioral disorders. A new theory, which, like Freud, focuses on the explanation of bizarre behaviors, claims that these bizarre behaviors are coping mechanisms, which individuals intuitively adopt when faced with an intolerable level of stress. A multi-case study, consisting of a large variety of behavioral disorders, demonstrates that all shared the same diagnostic criteria, and etiology. All blocked the accessibility of stress-related thoughts and enhanced the individual’s ability to exercise control over the stressor. This theory can integrate all therapeutic methods pertaining to bizarre behaviors into one theoretical framework. An examination of relevant data indicates that gender identity conversion therapy can be highly effective for transgender individuals if accompanied by insight and coping skills training.

Reconceptualizing Conversion Disorder: A Rational-Choice Theory of Neurosis Perspective | Chapter 7 | Disease and Health Research: New Insights Vol. 11

Conversion disorder remains enigmatic, with its understanding further complicated by the declining influence of psychoanalysis and emerging neurological insights suggesting biological underpinnings. Prevalent rates of this disorder vary widely across cultures and the population studied. Existing theories struggle to explain the efficacy of diverse interventions, such as psychoanalysis, behavior therapy, drug therapy, and religious therapy. This article reviews research and clinical evidence on the development and treatment of conversion disorder, proposing that this seemingly incompatible evidence can be integrated within a new framework: the Rational-Choice Theory of Neurosis (RCTN). RCTN builds on Freud's framework, introducing a new concept of repression and replacing the unconscious with self-deception while suggesting that neurotic disorders are rational behaviors. Repression is seen as a conscious coping mechanism which deliberately eliminates threatening stimuli from attention through the employment of distractive maneuvers. RCTN has already proven its integrative approach due to its ability to account for the differential efficacy of various therapeutic methods pertaining to neurosis, such as behavior therapy, religious therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy and drugs, using one set of theoretical principals. This integration offers fresh insights into the condition and could enhance therapeutic approaches, making it a valuable contribution to the field.

Endometritis Etiology and Treatment Methods of Livestock Animals | Chapter 4 | Contemporary Research and Perspectives in Biological Science Vol. 7

This study reviews the causes of pet disease endometritis and assesses the effectiveness of different treatment options. Endometritis is an inflammatory process of the uterine mucosa (endometrium), which is polyetiological in nature and is widespread. The main sources of inflammatory diseases in the uterus in farm animals are: contamination of the genitals of livestock caused by pathogenic and opportunistic types of microorganisms; violation of feeding rules and conditions of detention; endocrine system disorder; weakening of the general reactivity and resistance of the body, as well as violation of metabolic processes. Pathology of reproductive organs in animals is one of the main reasons that affect the rate of reproduction of the herd and milk productivity, reduce the number of lactation, and lead to premature culling of the animal.

Treatment of any inflammatory processes in agriculture, including endometritis, must be timely, comprehensive, safe and effective.

For the therapy and prevention of endometritis, complex drugs, regimens and additional methods of treatment have been developed, which include several areas such as adequate antibiotic therapy (general and local), hormonal treatment, biotherapy, reflexology, novocaine blockade therapy, physiotherapy, etc. The data on the effectiveness of these treatments are quite contradictory and diverse. According to literary sources, one day of infertility in farm animals causes great economic damage to livestock. This is due to the lost offspring of young animals, the cost of treatment and livestock maintenance, thereby reducing the profitability and increasing the cost of production in animal husbandry.

Of all farm animals, most pigs need vitamins and minerals, which is associated with their rapid growth and development. The main cause of the disease is a lack of iron in the body. Complex and timely therapy can cure both acute and chronic endometritis in sheep and restore their productivity, provided that veterinary intervention is applied promptly and treatment begins immediately. Also, during lambing, it is necessary to remove lochia in time and prevent the arrest of the afterbirth, and if the genitals are injured during childbirth, provide veterinary assistance in time. Therefore, if animals are treated in a timely manner, a positive prognosis can be expected.

Analysis of the available literature indicates widespread endometritis in different species of farm animals. Acute inflammation of the uterine mucosa causes a huge economic loss, especially in dairy complexes, for this reason, special attention should be paid to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obstetric and gynecological diseases. Therefore, the identification of etiological factors, the clarification of the clinic of the disease, as well as the development of effective methods and methods of treatment to prevent endometritis has become the subject of hard work for domestic and foreign scientists. Defective offspring or pathology during childbirth and the postpartum period in farm animals is widespread, despite the efforts of well-known scientists and practitioners, which means that the problem remains relevant, and therefore the search for new ways, schemes and methods that stimulate the body's defenses for the prevention of genital diseases is in demand.

The Main Genome is a Natural Mechanism for Fighting Infections and Somatic Diseases | Chapter 5 | Achievements and Challenges of Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 10

All infectious diseases of viral and bacterial nature, as well as somatic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular pathology, oncology, autoimmune diseases, mental disorders, nervous diseases, etc., appear as a result of the process of adaptation of the organism during the transfer of genetic material from the main genome to a macroorganism – plants and animals. The main genome in the evolutionary or adaptive process of all living things on the planet is the genome of bacteria (prokaryotes, including archaea). The adaptation of bacteria themselves to a changing environment has been going on continuously at the genetic level since the appearance of life on the planet. Further, these changes from bacteria are transmitted to multicellular organisms for their improvement (adaptation to a new environment). To do this, bacteria use retrovirus-like mechanisms (in one place, a part of the genome is cut out from bacteria, in another place, in particular, into the human genome, this part is inserted). As one of these mechanisms, bacteria have a system of spacer adaptation: the CRISPR/Cas system. In this case, the bacterial genome adapted to the new environment is transferred to the macroorganism to adapt its immune and hormonal systems to new conditions. So, normally, the natural mechanism of adaptation or improvement of animals and plants is carried out, i.e. the mechanism of countering the occurrence of infections and somatic diseases. Careful use of the mechanism given by nature will allow for solving the problems of diagnosis, prevention and therapy of many infectious and somatic diseases.

Organic Osmolytes and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: From Homeostasis, Inflammation and Skeletal Muscle Regeneration to Therapeutic Target| Chapter 11 | Novel Research Aspects in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 7

 In this study, we pay particular consideration to the PKA-p38MAPK-NFAT5-organic osmolytes pathway, that involves protein kinase A, mitogen-activated protein kinase, basic factor of triggered T cells 5, and organic osmolytes. Through allure control of the inflow and outflow of natural osmolytes, this route contributes significantly to the osmotic balance inevitable for optimal cell function. Duchenne burly dystrophy (DMD) is not only one of ultimate severe forms of inherited vigorous dystrophies but also the most universal hereditary neuromuscular disease. In Duchenne sturdy dystrophy (DMD), the absence of dystrophin from the dystrophin- befriended protein complex (DAPC) causes muscle membrane imbalance, which leads to myofiber necrosis, restricted regeneration, and chronic redness. The resulting disabled DAPC-joined cellular pathways have existed described both at the microscopic and the therapeutical level, with the Toll-like receptor basic factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B containers pathway (NF-KB), Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of copy proteins, and the transforming progress factor-β pathways receiving ultimate attention. Besides, NFAT5 plays an essential role in container survival under hyperosmolar conditions, in wasted muscle conversion, and in tissue inflammation, carefully interacting with the master manager of inflammation NF-KB. We describe the difficulty of the PKA-p38MAPK- NFAT5-organic osmolytes pathway in DMD pathophysiology and determine a clear overview of that therapeutic molecules maybe of potential benefit to DMD patients. We conclude that timbre of the PKA-p38MAPK-NFAT5-organic osmolytes pathway maybe developed as supportive situation for DMD in conjunction with hereditary therapy.

A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials on the Benefits of Exercise in Heart Failure Patients | Chapter 9 | Current Progress in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 1

Objective: To refurbish Sagar et al. orderly review and meta-analysis on exercise-based restoration in heart failure.Methods: MEDLINE, OVID and cross citations were searched for randomized dispassionate trials published 'tween February 2013 to August 2018 on exercised-located cardiac rehabilitation. Trials accompanying at least 6 months follow up were contained if with exercise preparation program alone or as a component of inclusive cardiac rehabilitation program compared accompanying groups without exercise formula.Results: A total of 43 randomized clinical troubles involving 11,989 patients mainly with weakened EF and NYHA class ll-lll were included in the study. Exercise training program formula in heart failure subjects was shown to decreased the all-cause mortality (RR=0.76; 95%CI= 0.66, 0.87; P= 0.001), all cause hospitalization later 12 months (RR=0.70; 95% CI= 0.52, 0.96; P= 0.02) rehospitalization due to heart attack (RR= 0.49; 95% CI= 0.44, 0.55; P= <0.0001) and improvement in status-of-life scores (RR= -0.36; 95% CI= -0.58, -0.14; P= 0.002).  All-cause mortality and  therapy admission following in position or time 12 months follow up granted significant benefits with exercise medicine program, particularly on exercise background(p=0.026) and exercise dose (p=0.013), individually, as revealed by the univariate meta-reversion results.Conclusion: Exercise therapy either in center or home located has  been proved to benefit heart failure patients in lowering the risk of all-cause mortality until 12 months, hospital admittance up 12 months, and gave better quality of history. The new studies included have further heartened the findings of former studies that an exercise therapy program provides benefit to heart attack patients, either as an “unique” intervention or in addition to a cardiac rehabilitation program; and that the background and dose of an exercise cure program provide important impact in reducing the risk of all-cause mortality and treatment after 12 months make inquiries, respectively.

Biomechanical Etiology of the So-called Idiopathic Scoliosis: Principles of Causal Prophylaxis, Indications to New Therapy| Chapter 5 | Perspective of Recent Advances in Medical Research Vol. 3

 The biomechanical study of animal of the so-called emergent scoliosis [adolescent basic scoliosis (AIS)] has been the subject of the author’s research because 1984. The question was presented on many orthopedics congresses, conference and also in “competent groups” the one are specific in the problem of “basic scoliosis” in SOSORT and IRSSD meetings. I have likely lectures on this matter in SOSORT Meetings in Athens and Wiesbaden (Germany), in IRSSD Meetings in Athens, Genth (Belgium), Liverpool, Poznan (Poland) and in SICOT Congresses in Havana (Cuba), Istanbul (Turkey), Kolobrzeg (Poland), Marrakesh (Morocco) [Literature 1 - 28].The main dates connected with the finding of plant structure of the so-called emergent scoliosis are following:1997 - is stated - that all youth accompanying scoliosis has the habit to “stand ‘calm’ only on the right leg” - and this cause is main in two groups and two types of scoliosis. Why? Because standing on the right lap is permanent and start expected in age of 2 age.2001 and 2004 - is given new categorization - three groups and four types of scoliosis.2006 - is precised and detailed “the model of upper legs movement” and types of scoliosis.2007 - is likely answer - why the blind babies - do not have scoliosis.
