Xunpu women in Fujian and Lukai women in Taiwan have similar
headdress cultural phenomena. However, Xunpu women's hair accessories are more
influenced by marine culture and Western culture, while the Lukai’s headwear
culture is more internal and related to mythology. By comparing the headwear
culture of the two, we can find the specific differences between the two
cultures. At the same time, the social symbolic significance of the two
specific cultures is compared through the deeper sociopolitical, economic and
ideological connotations behind the differences. Through the analysis of the
cultural particularities of Xunpu women and Rukai women, we can also get the
general significance of headwear culture in society.
