Ionic Liquid-based Schiff Base Ligand for the Synthesis of Fe(III) and Cr(III) Metal Complexes and Their Antibacterial Studies | Chapter 5 | Recent Developments in Chemistry and Biochemistry Research Vol. 2

Fe(III) and Cr(III) complexes derived from an ionic liquid-based Schiff base, 1-{2-(2-hydroxy-5-chlorobenzylamine)ethyl}-3-ethylimidazolium were characterized and established by various analytical and spectroscopic techniques such as ESI-MS, UV-Visible, FT-IR, 1H NMR, elemental analysis and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Based on these spectral data octahedral geometry was suggested for the both complexes. The Schiff base ligand and its complexes were screamed for in vitro antibacterial activities against gram positive and gram negative bacteria to assess their effects. Cr(III) complex showed higher activity than the Fe(III) complex against the tested gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Exploring the Benefits of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients as Ionic Liquids for Indomethacin and Mebendazole | Chapter 5 | Current Innovations in Chemical and Materials Sciences Vol. 6

Some of the main challenges that the pharmaceutical industry has to face is to overcome the physicochemical problems that many drugs present due to polymorphism, low solubility, and low bioavailability. Recently, it has been shown that the combination of solid, poorly water-soluble Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) with suitable counter-ions to give liquid forms (API-ILs) can resolve these limitations. The purpose of this study was to explore the transformation of Indomethacin and Mebendazole, two solid, poorly water-soluble APIs into new API-ILs. Their structures were selected by their pharmaceutical interest, their susceptibility of being transformed into API-ILs (either to form the cation or the anion), and their limited bioavailability, mainly due to its low solubility. The counterions were carefully chosen aiming for high biocompatibility, low toxicity and high water solubility such as those derived from DMEA, TMG, DBU, TED, p-toluensulfonic acid, glycolic acid, methanesulfonic acid and saccharine. The synthesis was carried out by direct treatment of the API with the corresponding selected acid or base. Solubility tests showed a high increase of water solubility for all the salts synthesised, especially for the API-ILs derived from indomethacin which showed a water solubility in the range of 185 and 218 mg/mL, around 75000-hold higher than free drug indomethacin.

A Comprehensive Review on the Versatile Applications of Ionic Liquids | Chapter 4 | Current Innovations in Chemical and Materials Sciences Vol. 4

This review item highlights the miscellaneous applications of Ionic fluids (IL) such as solvent, electrolytes, catalysis, solar cells, fuel containers, polymer science, snack and bioproducts, lubricants, and many more ILs are also known as salts they are appropriate to beneath melting point and they maybe also considered as a novel and particular set of solvents. ILs are as well just green solvents and they showed interest in allure practically discrediting. They have established several requests and they synthesized water and air-resistant ionic liquids established an imidazolium cation like 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium and also tetrafluoroborate or hexafluorophosphate as the anion. The review is an attempt to give notice of possible occurrence of the usage of Concerning ancient culture liquids in various fields and remember the application of ILs in additional fields also based on their features. Finally, it is decided that ILs have various applications indifferent fields such as use as solvent in various industries, electrolytes, assorted catalysis, solar containers, fuel cells, polymer industry, foodstuff and bioproducts, and lubricants. However, few drawbacks with concerning ancient culture liquids are emphasize concerning toxicity, preparation, and extreme cost in the process for use.

Synthesis and Evaluation of Imidazolium Based Ionic liquIds as Corrosion Inhibitor for Mild Steel in Hydrochloric Acid Medium: Electrochemical, Thermodynamic and Theoretical Studies| Chapter 4 | Research Aspects in Chemical and Materials Sciences Vol. 3

Iimidazolium based ionic fluids (ILs, for example, 3-hexadecyl-1-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium bromide [C16M1Im] [Br] and 3-hexadecyl-1,2-dimethyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium bromide [C16M2Im] [Br] were combined and assessed for erosion obstruction on gentle steel in 1M HCl arrangement by weight reduction and electrochemical strategies. The outcomes uncovered that the restraint proficiency, upgraded with an ascent in the centralization of inhibitor. Furthermore, [C16M2Im] [Br] showed more noteworthy inhibitory viability than [C16M1Im] [Br] because of the expansion of more alkyl substituents. As per a polarization examination, the used inhibitors display blended type conduct however basically make anodic inhibitory impacts. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm is trailed by the inhibitors adsorbed on the gentle steel surface. Nuclear power microscopy (AFM) and filtering electron microscopy (SEM) with EDAX examination were utilized to break down the surface geography. The improvement of the Fe-inhibitor complex on the outer layer of gentle steel has been checked by UV-apparent spectroscopy. Quantum substance boundaries determined for [C16M1Im] [Br] and [C16M2Im] [Br] support the outcomes acquired from trial techniques.

Exploring Diverse Interactions of Some Surface-Active Ionic Liquids with Amino Acids Prevalent in Aqueous Environments by Physicochemical Contrivance: Experimental investigation | Chapter 2| Progress in Chemical Science Research Vol. 2

With two (ILS) [BMIM] [C8SO4] and [MOIM] Cl and amino acids (AA) (AA = L-tyr, L-phe) using molar conductivity (Ʌ) at three different temperatures. I studied the molecular interaction of. .. In an aqueous medium. Spectroscopic experiments were performed to study the behavior of IL and  selected amino acids, and the spontaneity of the process. Amino acids are a component of proteins and are therefore used as model compounds.  Changes in the electronic states of different protons of IL in the presence of different amino acids were also verified by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Order  ([BMIM] [C8SO4] + L-tyr)> ([MOIM] Cl + L-tyr)> ([BMIM] [C8SO4]  + L-phe)> ([MOIM] Cl + L-phe) Used to interpret all  data in water in terms of possible molecular interactions. The experimental parameters obtained are very helpful in understanding the mixing effects and other complex biological processes that occur between amino acids and selected ionic liquids. Significant chemical shifts of ILs protons in the presence of amino acids in 1H NMR study  also  support  results obtained from other spectroscopic and conductivity measurements
