The technological revolution has affected our daily lives in all aspects, especially in interpersonal communication. The use of social media for the transference of messages is highly advanced and widely used in all areas of our lives, including the use of social media in the field of education. One of the most efficient applications for transferring messages between educational staff and parents which is used extensively is the application, "WhatsApp".
This research investigated the use of "WhatsApp" between
kindergarten teachers and parents in kindergartens in the North of Israel.
Using a quantitative research approach, a specially designed
questionnaire was distributed online as a Google Docs document to 161
kindergarten teachers., it appears that the main adoption and use of the
WhatsApp tool is for the transmission of information or kindergarten
experiences to the parents. The kindergarten teachers felt that the Watts App
application was advantageous due to its easy accessibility and speed of
communication and testified to more sharing and involvement of the parents in
the kindergarten activities and work. Nevertheless, several questions arise
concerning the mutual availability of the information that is transmitted and
the type of information that is transmitted. It is recommended that further
research looks at the effect of digital communication on the quality of
interpersonal relationships between educational staff and parents to improve
the quality of the mutual partnership in educating young children.
