Advanced Research on Recreating Government: Entrepreneurship and Proverbs in Public Administration | Chapter 2 | New Horizons in Education and Social Studies Vol. 7

 The corruption in the public service of Cameroon is beyond any language to be represented. They use proverbs to express the situation when individuals gasp for speech. Public servants move in and out of their offices. The government would set working hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. People set up their own time as they think it's fitting. Half the working population has been found to start working at 9:00 a.m. and to leave workplaces at 2:30 p.m. instead of 3:30 p.m. There is a need for a shift in attitudes at work. Entrepreneurship, although closely related to the business sector, cuts through all walks of life and offers knowledge/skills that can mitigate public administration deficiencies. Proverbs likewise encourage creative thinking. In order to extend awareness and encourage comprehension of problems, our forefathers used them. In order to enhance public policy, information, insight and motivation can be taken from proverbs and entrepreneurship. The purpose of this research is to explore how it is possible to use entrepreneurship and proverbs to enhance public administration. Data was gathered in Cameroon via face-to-face interviews with selected elders and administrators. Data is qualitatively analysed. The study concludes that the poor condition in public administration can be eased by entrepreneurship and proverbs. Goffin and Mitchell[1] need to innovate in order to be competitive, and so do governments. In this essay, entrepreneurship and proverbs are seen as catalysts for educating society and fostering growth. The value of using indigenous expertise in changing society is highlighted. In using their tools to enhance the quality of administration, policy makers have not been vigilant. It is hoped that this document will lead to a shift in mind set.
