The Interplay between Demographics and Decision-Making Styles in Botswana's Retail Sector | Chapter 5 | Contemporary Research in Business, Management and Economics Vol. 1

This study aims to analyse the decision-making styles displayed by retail shoppers, specifically exploring the impact of gender, age, education, income, and marital status on these styles. The study targeted the urban populations of Gaborone and Francistown, which together account for 20% of Botswana's overall population. It conducted a survey among individuals aged 18 to 64. The data collection process consisted of conducting intercept surveys in shopping malls, resulting in 894 participants providing responses. The analysis identified three distinct decision-making styles prevalent among retail shoppers in Botswana: time-energy conserving, perfectionism, and fashion-hedonistic consciousness. Individuals who conserved time energy were older males with lower educational attainment, whereas perfectionistic shoppers were younger, educated, and married females. The fashion-hedonistic consciousness style was frequently observed among middle-aged, married women. These findings emphasise the significance for retailers to understand the subtle aspects of demographic influences on consumer decision-making styles, enabling the creation of focused marketing strategies to sustain a competitive advantage in the market.

The Influence of Demographical Differences on the Work Adjustment of Academic Expatriates: The Case of an ODeL Higher Education Institution | Chapter 4 | Managing Higher Education and Enterprises in Developing Countries Beyond COVID-19: Proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Business and Management Dynamics

Work adjustment of academic expatriates is crucial for properly integrating into the work environment of the host institution. Academic expatriates who find it challenging to integrate are likely to feel alienated and experience low job satisfaction, which could lead to them resigning from their jobs. The study intended to determine whether demographical differences among academic expatriates (based in an open and distance higher education institution) influenced how they adapt at work. The study adopted a positivist research approach, which quantitatively studied a sample of 125 academic expatriates via an online survey.  A 5-point Likert scale questionnaire was utilised to collect the data. The findings revealed that differences existed between the work adjustment of those employed permanently and those employed on fixed-term contracts. Moreover, females and males experienced work adjustment differently. Furthermore, demographical factors such as occupation, age, tenure, qualification, and length of time in South Africa also seemed to influence their work adjustment. Subsequently, the study highlighted the need for organisational support from the host institution. Hence, relevant and appropriate in-house tailored adjustment programmes should be made available to facilitate a swift adaptation.

In this research, the Markov chain plan was used to predict the populace of Syria in terms of instructional status. As we noticed, population enumerations are conducted each ten years, so only the sample of dossier obtained from 1980 to 2010 was intentional. It was forecast for three years, 2008, 2009 and 2010, place the forecasting process endured the following steps. In the first stage, the model was created based on the measure of the mean certain relative error (MAPE) and the measure of the root mean square wrong (RMSE). In the second stage, the chart was formed, and in the after second stage, the transition forge from one old age to another was formed, utilizing the MATLAB program, and in the final stage, the principles were predicted and before the values acquired were compared accompanying the actual principles. The obtained principles confirm that Markov chains have extreme reliability and are a trustworthy method in this place study. The research aimed to study all facets of demographics in accordance with educational stage, build an persuasive Markov chart model, and use Markov chains in prediction and clarify their importance. However, this study presented a set of results and recommendations, ultimate important of that is that the Markov chain technique is thought-out one of the main techniques that maybe used to predict the future in business-related and social studies. There is a large size of credibility when utilizing Markov chains and their prediction in examining opportunity series of the Syrian culture by educational level. Demographics in Prostate Cancer Treatment in the U.S. | Chapter 4 | Current Practice in Medical Science Vol. 6

The most frequently diagnosed disease in men and the second leading cause of cancer death in the US is prostate cancer (PCa). Although localised PCa is becoming less common among American males, it still has a considerable morbidity and mortality rate. We set out to research the variables that might affect how patients and doctors choose their courses of therapy. More precisely, we looked into how different demographic groups in the United States used RP, RT, and AS therapy choices differently to treat localised PCa, paying close attention to the impact of population density. and facility type for cancer centres. The standard of care is not as clearly defined as it is for other malignancies, but many considerations (such as availability, accessibility, and preference) may play a role in selecting a therapeutic choice.

In order to improve patient outcomes, we seek to raise awareness of the complexity of the treatment choices in PCa by exposing these variations in care based on demographics.
