Understanding Special Cases in the Method of Undetermined Coefficients with GeoGebra and DeepSeek in Non-Homogeneous Linear Differential Equations of Third Order | Chapter 3 | Mathematics and Computer Science: Research Updates Vol. 4

Over the years, the teaching of differential equations in the engineering programs at the University of Antofagasta, Chile, has faced various challenges, particularly regarding the learning of the method of undetermined coefficients. This method, used to find particular solutions in third-order linear differential equations, has been identified as one of the most complex topics for students. The difficulty lies primarily in determining the general solution of these equations, which requires a high level of understanding and advanced mathematical skills.

To address these challenges and improve the learning process, innovative technological tools such as GeoGebra applets have been developed. These applications allow students to interact dynamically with the concepts and procedures of the method of undetermined coefficients, facilitating their understanding and application. The results obtained after implementing these tools have been highly positive, showing a significant improvement in students' learning and motivation. Additionally, this work incorporates the use of artificial intelligence, specifically through DeepSeek. This AI has proven to be an effective tool for assisting in the determination of particular solutions, which not only simplifies the resolution process but also fosters students' interest and active participation in their tasks and studies. The integration of these technologies not only strengthens learning but also modernizes the teaching of differential equations, aligning it with the current demands of engineering education.

Assessment of the Degree of Health Risk among Poultry Workers in Nigeria | Chapter 8 | Research Highlights in Disease and Health Research Vol. 9

The finest and affordable food protein arisen poultry has advanced the chance for high investment and task opportunities across the sphere for poultry farming. One of the questions generated for one intensive management practice is the very long time exposure of fowl workers to health-connected hazards. This study, therefore, aims to evaluate the level of hazards among the staff appendages in poultry result enterprise and determine their susceptibleness based on the level of uncovering and their job responsibilities inside the poultry firm.Field surveys (that is the use of one hundred pieces of questionnaires administered with staff appendages), interviews, and personal observation were the systems used to gather news from three different farms in Osun and Oyo states. The farms visited contained Tuns Farm (Osogbo), Zartech Farm (Ibadan), and Vina Farm (Ibadan), all in Osun and Oyo States individually. Different units such as pen apartments, farm laboratories, farm laboratories (maintenance engineers, technicians), and Administrative offices were secured with the questionnaires. Results got showed that cholera, E. coli, salmonellosis, staphylococcus, Avian flu, Mark, New Castle afflictions, and diarrhea are ultimate common diseases moving poultry employees. It was also gathered that the chemical compound used as purifier contributes to cough, catarrh, angry throat, and respiring difficulty, especially with the pen attendant who give most of their working hours in the pen house. It was still recorded from the study that, pen assistants who spent betwixt 0-2 and 2-5 years had 0% and 33.33%, while those that gone between 5-10 and10-15years had 15.5% and 0% of health-accompanying diseases individually. This means that the risk of having one those hazards increases as the year valuable progresses, while after spending until about 5 years or further, there is less risk to these hazards, this may be cause their body method is already used to the system (that is working surroundings). Whereas, 0%, 0%, 14.3%, and 0%; 0%, 0%, 20%, and 50%; and 0%, 0%, 28.6%, and 16.7% of related diseases were written for laboratory chemists, engineering/technician and policy-making (other) parts with working occurrence of 0-2, 2-5, 5-10 and 10-15years, respectively. The extreme rate of health hazards among the pen custodians may happen longer hours of time they gone in the pen house that is more than the hours that are being spent by appendages of staff from different units. The study established that the order of pen nurses, engineers/technicians, and laboratory technologists were more dependent on something hazards such as Chest pain, E. coli, Salmonellosis, Staphylococcus, and Avian flu contaminations than any employees from other units in the fowl firm.

A Descriptive Study on Potential and Benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM)| Chapter 9 | Research Developments in Science and Technology Vol. 3

All countries' principal source of revenue is the building industry. The building project is growing more sophisticated and difficult to oversee. This is because the construction project involves many different parties, including consulting companies, architects, engineers, building surveyors, and quantity surveyors, to mention a few. The latest technology in use in the construction industry is AutoCAD (automated computer-aided design). AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 2D and 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and drawing developed by Autodesk. In general, all AutoCAD drawing designs will be exchanged among stakeholders on paper. They convey the majority of their data in the form of papers and drawings. Because most papers and drawings are in a paper-based format that isn't well-managed, this strategy leads to mistakes and confusion. Because one of the most important construction components in a construction project is information, having erroneous information during the building process might stymie project completion. BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a contemporary software technique used in the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors to ensure that everyone has access to the same data. The programme will generate a model that contains all of the data required to support the building's development, fabrication, and procurement processes. This article will explore the potential and advantages of BIM during the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction stages. The fundamental distinction between CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) is that the former generates a 2D design with a plotted system, while the latter generates a separate building plan.

A Thorough Discussion on Social Aspects of Engineering | Chapter 3 | Recent Advances in Science and Technology Research Vol. 7

The chapter explores the interactions and connections between the extended profession of engineering and other intangible aspects of human society. While explaining how simple human needs, which engineers once used to fulfil, were transformed into a world of almost limitless wants and desires in the 21st century, the author highlights the new challenges facing engineering today. The drive to write this chapter stems from reading the work of Nagib Callaos on "Engineering and Mete-Engineering." One consequence of this shift in expectations affects the design, planning and development of products and services that should fulfil vague desires and fuzzy ideas. They vary totally from the previous tasks and mission of engineering in this way. Therefore, future engineering should be more emotional and inclined to include touchy topics, intangible and moral considerations. Engineering can therefore be viewed as a blend of science and art.

Puerperal Psychosis Detection Using Cleanroom-based Software Engineering Model | Chapter 11 | Theory and Practice of Mathematics and Computer Science Vol.2

Puerperal psychosis, as a problem of nursing mothers at the post-natal level, needs special attention as a means of creating efficiency, scalable, and effective software to solve many problems in the world today. If not identified as early as possible, life will pay for it if not attended to, being dangerous to both the mother and the infant. As preventable, the benefit of early detection and avoidance can be applied to the Cleanroom software engineering model before it reaches an uncontrollable level. With the model and techniques of ensuring error-free applications, software reliability for this problem was tackled. Data for the development and application were collected with the appropriate parameters Uh, from the programme. The questionnaire, paper reviews and modelling were used. As this process model preaches, team-based, use profile and quality metric tests can help to standardise the app. In conclusion, it would be an additional gain for stakeholders to embrace the use of this device for the protection of the mother and the newborn baby in all hospitals and clinics around the world.

Comparative Evaluation of IDF Equation Types in Southern Nigeria | Chapter 14 | Emerging Issues in Science and Technology Vol. 4

This paper evaluates four types of non-Probability Density Function {nonPDF} IDF equations mostly used in engineering practice for design of urban hydraulic structures. The empirical models employed for comparison on the development of standard IDF equations using historic data for Benin, Calabar, Port Harcourt, and Warri meteorological stations, all in Southern Nigeria were available in literature. The model evaluation indices were; percent relative error, Nash – Sutcliffe efficiency (NSE), LogNSE, percent volume error(PerErr), total accuracy and RMSE - observations standard deviation ratio (RSR). The percent relative error and total accuracy being the product of NSE, LogNSE, and PerErr (Equation 5) were used to evaluate each IDF equation form against each station. The values of the combination of the three accuracy measures range from 0 to 1 with the perfect fit at 1. RSR varies from the minimal value of 0, to a large positive value. The application of the three numerical assessment measures: percent relative error, total accuracy and RSR across each stations show that Equation 1 is rated best at Benin City, Equation 2 at Calabar,  Equation 3 at Port Harcourt and Equation 1 at Warri. On the basis of relative percent error, the IDF equations were evaluated for return periods ranging from 5 to 40 years and for storm durations ranging from 15 to 30 minutes. The strength and weakness of the different models were assessed using the mean ± standard deviation as range between intensities estimated for 5 and 40 years, and percent relative error between the observed and predicted rainfall intensities as performance criteria. The results obtained show that IDF type-1 and 2 equations displayed lower range of intensities for all returned periods. Also IDF type-1 and 2 equations predicted the lowest relative error of less than or equal to 6% in all stations considered. Finally, we recommend IDF equation type 1 and 2 best for design of storm water management facilities at Benin City, Calabar and Warri while equation 2 and 3 at Port Harcourt. The study has advanced the understanding of the equations and further insight in their utility as hydrologic design tools.
