The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Applied in Preparation for the Workforce to Embrace Technological Change in a Logistics Company | Chapter 11 | Information Management and Technology: The Proceedings of the 10 th International Conference on Business and Management Dynamics (ICBMD), Edition 1

The purpose of the study was to investigate how a logistics company prepared for the transition from a manual to a systems-guided process leveraging the implementation of digital technology at the study site in Durban, South Africa, to efficiently controlling the short shelf-life of products in the logistics environment. The legacy manual and labour-intensive process required the warehouse personnel to physically check each storage location, each pallet of product for their expiry date which had to be manually documented. This was time-consuming, and prone to human error. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was utilised in conducting this study and the qualitative research approach was applied due to the exploratory nature of the research. Interviews and focus groups were conducted, and data were analysed using thematic analysis. The study findings contribute to broadening the understanding of the emerging development opportunities to enhance the capabilities of the logistics workforce. Based on the findings of the study, a change management model was proposed, one which is adapted to the South African context and is applicable to transitioning from a manual to a system-guided process within the logistics environment. Future research should include reverse logistics, real-time visibility of Proof of delivery (POD), and future digitalisation through the perspective of the Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR).

Security Issues Associated with Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): A Narrative Review | Chapter 10 | Research Highlights in Science and Technology Vol. 2

 This study is a narrative review that proposed at exploring the benefits, risks, and procedure controls of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) for maximum and effective BYOD adoption. BYOD is a example where representatives use their personal schemes such as Smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc., to access arrangements’ enterprise money such as electronic mail, file servers, and database contents and networks. Significant practical evidence from literature told that 82% of organizations have a BYOD program, while 68% of arrangings see a jump in output after changing to BYOD. Despite these important honors, numerous investigations have proved that threats and attacks on institution data and resources: secrecy, integrity, and chance are the greatest safety concern in BYOD environment. In this study, the authors adopted a narrative review methods. A search, using keywords, was administered and fifty-five peer-inspected journal papers inside the last 5 years concerning this study were identified. These journals emanated Pro Quest databases, ScienceDirect, Taylor and Francis, Crossref.com, Walden University collection of scholarly and peer-inspected journals, and other accompanying texts. Inclusion and exclusion tests were applied, followed by a character appraisal of the picked articles, before dossier were extracted.  Results show that good BYOD policies, directions, and practices coupled with good controls and administration may thwart security breaches on employees' and arrangements' devices and money. Results also show that it is likely to use machine learning approaches to handle threats and attacks to a degree persistent warnings, data outflow, and data theft, dismissal of service (DOS) attack, interruption attack, and untrusted network in BYOD environment. Findings may definitely impact and equip institutions and employees accompanying proven information for favorable security and risk administration programs that may increase shared trust and a healthy BYOD adoption surroundings.

Review of University Staff Use of a Learning Management System: Pre- and Post-Covid Context | Chapter 9 | Research Highlights in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 5

 The use of knowledge management schemes (LMSs) in higher education institutions is a meaningful way to improve teaching and education, particularly in an online surroundings. Many universities secondhand learning management orders prior to the covid-19 universal. This chapter reports on a study of the aims of using a Learning Management System (LMS) at a university of science prior to COVID-19, in addition to a comparative controversy of online learning utilizing LMS in the post-COVID-19 era. The study, established the literature and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, checked four constructs that influence academics’ custom and behavior to select LMS: performance anticipation, effort expectancy, helping conditions, and friendly influence. Data from a survey questionnaire was collected from individual hundred academics. Correlations and reversion were performed to analyse the friendships among the constructs. The set of assembles including conduct expectancy, exertion expectancy, social influence, and help conditions were recognized as influential determinants in the usage of LMS. However, the results of the study indicate that aiding conditions play a important role in deciding the usage of and intention to use LMSs between both consumers and non- users.  Technology agreement theories are mainly met on measuring the consumer adaption of new technologies. Those science acceptance believes were using to measure online buying intention by researchers. It maybe seen those hypotheses were directly focused on mechanics components while rejecting retailer, customer, medium and most additional macro characteristic engaged accompanying online buying. Hence, it is mandatory to study the capability to use electronics acceptance hypotheses to measure online purchasing goal. Main technology acceptance hypotheses were critically judged by considering their context used, concept and process adjustment with online buying to identify the uniqueness of each model.Results of the Evaluation habitual the technology agreement theories were directly used to measure science acceptance behaviour in an administrative context. Further it was confirmed the distinctnesses in contexts, theoretical ideas and processes between the peasant in an organization and online services. Finally, evaluation was habitual, and technology acceptance believes were directly used to measure technology agreement behaviour in an organizational circumstances. When comparing the worker in an organisational circumstances to the online services in online purchasing, skilled was a distinction in circumstances, concept, process, and theoretical facets. Therefore, it is impossible to directly measure connected to the internet purchasing goal using those technology agreement theories.   Similarly, Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), the Unified hypothesis of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) and the hypothesis of Reason Action (TRA) cannot be used  measure online buying because individual customers were engaged with new electronics such as an connected to the internet game or email, and TRA requires a extreme level of volitional control. Therefore, it is essential to build a global model that evaluates connected to the internet purchasing while maximising the theoretical bases of earlier science acceptance.
