Review of University Staff Use of a Learning Management System: Pre- and Post-Covid Context | Chapter 9 | Research Highlights in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 5

 The use of knowledge management schemes (LMSs) in higher education institutions is a meaningful way to improve teaching and education, particularly in an online surroundings. Many universities secondhand learning management orders prior to the covid-19 universal. This chapter reports on a study of the aims of using a Learning Management System (LMS) at a university of science prior to COVID-19, in addition to a comparative controversy of online learning utilizing LMS in the post-COVID-19 era. The study, established the literature and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, checked four constructs that influence academics’ custom and behavior to select LMS: performance anticipation, effort expectancy, helping conditions, and friendly influence. Data from a survey questionnaire was collected from individual hundred academics. Correlations and reversion were performed to analyse the friendships among the constructs. The set of assembles including conduct expectancy, exertion expectancy, social influence, and help conditions were recognized as influential determinants in the usage of LMS. However, the results of the study indicate that aiding conditions play a important role in deciding the usage of and intention to use LMSs between both consumers and non- users. Thus, providing an appropriate environment and money for the effective use of LMS is owned by ensure allure successful adoption. The judgments of this research have reference to practice. As the world adapts to the new usual of teaching and learning post covid-19, these associations are particularly appropriate.

Assessment of Exams at Atenea, an IMS LTI Application for Scalability Problems | Chapter 05 | New Visions in Science and Technology Vol. 11

 In 2004, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya modified its online teaching support platform. The previous proprietary programme was replaced with Moodle, an open source platform. The whole university community, particularly those responsible for providing support for the online teaching support platform, was put to the test by the population's confinement at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As a result of the increasing activity and the likelihood of the generalisation of online assessment, concerns regarding probable scalability difficulties with the quiz functionality during the examination period developed. Using Moodle's IMS LTI interoperability features, a high-performance version of the Moodle Quiz Module As A Service (SaaS) was deployed to plug-and-play within the university's LMS without relying on internal resources. The goal of this research is to examine the solution, which includes a systems strategy, private cloud operations, internal communication, and teacher training, that allowed a university course to be assessed in a constrained space.

Machine Deep Learning in E-learning: Study of Influence on the Performance of Primary School Students | Chapter 12 | Arts and Social Studies Research Vol. 1

An e-Learning service is a valuable tool that can help school directors, teachers, and students to do various teaching and learning activities online. Such a service can improve the quality of teaching at schools. To examine the practical effect of this service, we surveyed the usage of the e-Learning system in teaching and learning activities in a chosen primary school in Saudi Arabia. The targeted group was students in grades five and six who undertook Math, Science, and English courses in the second semester of the session 2018-2019. In this paper, we develop a questionnaire to measure the satisfaction levels of the targeted students regarding the services provided by the Black Board learning management system (LMS). The main finding of this study is that there is still a gap between the e-Learning theoretical principles and the practice. Students’ recommendations helped us to overcome the difficulties encountered to improve the educational system. One of the main recommendations that we got from our students is to have lecture pictures and posters uploaded on the system before lecture time so that they can review it before class time.
