Exploring the Unique Structure and Properties of Liquid Water | Chapter 4 | Science and Technology: Recent Updates and Future Prospects Vol. 11

Water was and remains the most unusual substance on Earth. Until very recently, the structure and abnormal properties of water have caused heated discussions among both domestic and foreign scientists of different generations. This is primarily due to the complexity of the object of study, the ability of water, even with minor external influences, to easily transition from one metastable state to another. Of course, the state of water at the triple point in the phase diagram is of particular interest. In this regard, the paper considers the features in the pressure-temperature coordinates of some substances in the liquid aggregate state. The authors hypothesized that all substances in the liquid aggregate state should have common features, despite their original individuality. It seems to us that a universal feature that unites all possible aggregate states of water is the ability of the systems under consideration to smoothly transition from a homogeneous to a heterogeneous state, from a single-phase to a two- or more-phase system, characterized by the appearance of a phase interface under certain conditions, that is, the formation of a dispersed system. It is emphasized in the work that until now when analyzing the transitions of water from one aggregate state to another, the time factor of the existence of a phase in equilibrium or metastable states, as well as the time of existence of the dispersed system itself, has not been taken into account. The rapid development of water sciences has led to the discovery of unique properties of water in extreme conditions, for example, the ability of water not to freeze even with ultra-deep cooling, much lower than the freezing point of liquid nitrogen, or the experimentally proven fact that at -68°C water acts as a mixture of two liquids of different densities and others. Further advances in the study of the properties and conditions of water are inevitably associated with the convergence of natural sciences.

A Comprehensive Study of the Almost Sure Convergence of Boundary Points in Continuous-Time Random Walks | Chapter 5 | Mathematics and Computer Science: Research Updates Vol. 1

In this work, we rigorously derive the almost sure limit points for suitably normalized partial sums of continuous-time random walks. These walks are a specialized form of random walks, subordinated to an underlying renewal process. This mathematical framework is widely employed in physics as a robust model for capturing the complexities of anomalous diffusion, which deviates from classical diffusion behaviours observed in standard stochastic processes.

OHADA Uniform Accounting Act Compliance Assessment for Public Limited Companies | Chapter 9 | Current Aspects in Business, Economics and Finance Vol. 2

African nations that speak French have made and are still making extraordinary efforts to align their domestic financial reporting system with international financial reporting standards (IFRS). A significant step towards harmonizing reporting practices domestically and internationally was the transition from the OCAM streams (effective in 1985) to the OHADA Uniform Act (effective in 2001), and now to the OHADA Uniform Act on Accounting and Financial Reporting, which includes 17 member countries. This empirical study investigates whether the efforts at harmonization, particularly in the wake of the 2001 standards, have successfully converged the accounting procedures of businesses. The study specifically looks into how closely public limited liability businesses abide by the OHADA Uniform Act and whether their adherence has increased over time. The annual reports for 2008 and 2009 from three public limited companies in the OHADA zone that transform their financial statements into IFRS were used in the study. The compliance index and closeness ranks have been used in data analysis. Results show a comparatively high level of OHADA Uniform Act on Accounting and Financial Reporting compliance. The results also demonstrate convergence in limited company accounting standards across member nations as they were found to be remarkably compliant, particularly in nations that have adopted the Statistics and Tax Returns (or "DSF") as a reporting system.

Regime Choice Determinants - The GCC Single Currency | Chapter 10 | Current Aspects in Business, Economics and Finance Vol. 1

The United Arab Emirates, State of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, State of Qatar, and State of Kuwait are the six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The paper examined theoretically and empirically the viability of the alleged potential monetary union among these nations before 2010. The ideal foreign government, according to the theoretical model, should maximise oil income while preserving internal and external balances. This was demonstrated to occur at either the highest expected foreign exchange rate or the lowest degree of volatility and uncertainty in the foreign exchange rate markets. Calculations using a calibrated model showed that the intended monetary union would probably lead to economic benefits if the GCC nations had selected a foreign policy tied to the SDR.

Critical Study on Finite Element Solution of a Boundary Value Problems for Equation Gravity Gyroscopic Waves in the Time Domain | Chapter 8 | Recent Studies in Mathematics and Computer Science Vol.4

In the present work, on the base of a numerical finite element method, the solution of the Dirichlet and

Neumann problems with respect to the oscillation equation for gravity-gyroscopic waves is discussed. The
approximation with respect to spatial variables is achieved by using linear splines, and the approximation with
respect to time is achieved by using cubic Hermitean splines. It is demonstrated that the use of such
approximation with respect to time allows the quality of the solution to be essentially improved as compared
with the traditional approximation ensuring the second order accuracy. The stability and accuracy of the method
are estimated. Using the method of regularization with spectrum shift, a new method is developed for solving
the spatial operator degeneration problem associated with the Neumann problem. The results of the numerical
calculations performed provide the possibility to make conclusions on the mode of behavior of the solution of
the Neumann problem depending on the problem variables.
