A Comprehensive Study on Anticancer Activity of Tridax procumbens Leaf Extracts on A549 and Hep G2 Cell Lines| Chapter 12 | Challenges and Advances in Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 10

Cancer is a ailment which is harshly effecting the global human community. There is always a loyal demand for new therapies to treat and forestall this life-threatening disease. Scientific and research interest is illustration its consideration towards naturally derivative compounds, as they are considered to have less poisonous side effects compared to current situations such as a destructive agent, radiation etc. Medicinal plant Tridax procumbens produces commonly occurring secondary metabolites that is being investigated for the anticancer actions against A549 (human lung tumor cell line), Hep G2 (human liver carcinoma container line) leading to the happening of new clinical drug.MTT and trypan sky dye exclusion assays were used to assess the anticancer action of T.procumbens ethanol, acetone, and liquid leaf extracts on selected human malignant cell lines. The MTT assay relies on the skill of viable containers' mitochondrial enzymes to convert the yellow soluble seasoning MTT to the purple sad insoluble formazan precipitate, that is then characterized spectrophotometrically at 570 nm. The Trypan blue assay depends cell staining. Cells are then included under a microscope using a hemocytometer, and non-practicable cells are tainted blue while viable containers remain spotless. The aqueous leaf extract of T. procumbens has not proved any anticancer activity. However, acetone and flammable liquid leaf extracts of T. procumbens has shown forceful anticancer activity on A549 (human alveolus cancer container line), Hep G2 (human liver carcinoma cell line).T. procumbens examined for anticancer potential by MTT assay and trypan blue forbiddance assay. The acetone and ethanol leaf extracts of T. procumbens have proved potent anticancer activity on picked human cell lines.

Response of Viteline Blood Vessels of Chick Embryo to the Extract of Tridax Procumbens | Chapter 09 | Research Aspects in Biological Science Vol. 1

The purpose of this histological investigation is to assess the healing and anti-angiogenic properties of T. procumbens crude leaf extract. Tridax procumbens (Linn.) is a plant that is commonly used to stop bleeding and cure wounds as a herbal remedy. During embryogenesis, angiogenesis plays a critical role in the embryo's growth. The effect of Tridax procumbens leaf extract in vivo is investigated using the chick chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) experiment. Angiogenesis, anti-angiogenesis, and histological studies of freshly formed vitelline blood vessels are the subjects of this study. The leaf extract of Tridax procumbens was found to have a thickening impact on endothelium and the tunica media of vitelline veins in a histological examination. The phytochemicals found in the leaves of this plant, such as essential oils, triterpenoids, alkaloids, and flavonoids, may contribute to the hardening of blood vessels and, eventually, the healing process.

Analysis of Photochemical Constituents and Anti- bacterial Activity on Tridax procumbens Plant Extract for Wound Care Applications | Chapter 12 | Trends in Pharmaceutical Research and Development Vol.2

The serviceable necessities of shielding textiles are very important need of current environmental issues and based on the requirements the use of natural plants with various healing properties for wound care infections. The special factor of perfect comfort also has become the necessary for protective care textiles. The Tridax procumbens is one of the incredibly important natural plant available in the all areas with hygienic properties. The Tridax procumbens herb leaves were collected and extracted and it was coated on bamboo fabric. The extract coated samples was tested under phytochemical analysis and exhibited the incidence of phytochemicals. The anti-microbial activity of 6% and 12% conc tridax plant ethanolic extract coated samples were tested namely AATCC 147 and AATCC 100 tests against both gram positive and gram negative bacterial pathogens. The test result shows that the tridax plant 12% coated sample proved greater antibacterial activity than 6% coated sample. Based on the results, the coated extract can be applied to any textile material for wound care applications.
