Enhancing Injection Molding Processes through Taguchi Method and SolidWorks Plastics for Automotive Applications | Chapter 7 | Current Approaches in Engineering Research and Technology Vol. 5

 

The research project delves into enhancing the injection molding process within the automotive industry. The objective is to refine the efficacy and efficiency of injection molding procedures for manufacturing specific interior plastic components utilizing SolidWorks Plastics and the Taguchi method. Essential elements such as project goals, parameters, and structure are meticulously considered to provide a systematic approach for achieving tangible enhancements in injection molding design. Five distinct process parameters in injection molding are chosen at various levels to minimize shrinkage in the selected component. To evaluate the Signal-to-Noise ratio, the L18 orthogonal array of Taguchi is selected based on the number of parameters and levels. The selected parameters are optimized, resulting in the following settings: the melt temperature is adjusted to 200°C, the mold temperature to 25°C, the filling time to 3 seconds, the pressure holding time to 3 seconds, and the pure cooling time to 3 seconds. Hence, the proposed methodology demonstrates that the Taguchi method is a viable approach for improving injection molding processes across diverse industries, including the automotive sector.

Talent Management Practices and Intellectual Capital: Enhancing Innovativeness in the KwaZulu-Natal Automotive Sector | Chapter 9 | Contemporary Issues of Business and Management: The Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on Business and Management Dynamics (ICBMD), Edition 1

 The study examined the complex interactions between talent management practices, intellectual capital, and innovation in the South African automotive industry. The study aimed to understand the variables that affect talent management strategies and intellectual capital, and how those variables influenced innovation. The main objective was to offer insights that might boost competitive advantage, encourage growth, and support the region's automakers' recuperation and long-term viability thereby providing guidance for management to consider the changing technological environment and industry dynamics. In-depth interviews were used to record participants’ viewpoints and experiences. The academic significance of this study will expand understanding the link and relation of how the practices in talent management influence intellectual capital and how the dimensions of human capital influence innovation. This research maps out which approaches are valuable for organisations within the automotive industry using learnings from Company X as a case study. In doing so, the study will furnish ways in which best-practices in the talent management process can be designed effectively and which methods of intellectual capital can foster an innovative organisational culture. The research design, participant selection, data collection procedures, and analytic techniques such as constant comparison and thematic analysis constituted the study’s methodology. The qualitative case study approach offered a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the subject matter, while also acknowledging its inherent limits. The results highlighted the importance of talent management in fostering an atmosphere that encourages original thought and value to existing research. The study recommends organisations critically assess their current strategies, focus on areas in need of development, and leverage the company’s existing competencies. Relevant recommendations were presented regarding talent management, intellectual capital, and innovation considering the context of the KwaZulu-Natal's automotive industry as the region’s and industry’s diverse past and approaches, influence talent management practices.

The conversation on organisational practices is enriched by the areas that have been highlighted for improvement, as well as by the emphasis placed on the value of creative cultures and people management techniques. The study highlights the need for a more thorough investigation of talent management dynamics within the broader framework of the automotive industry. This study also shows that human, structural, and relational factors all play important roles and have a tremendous impact that intellectual capital has on value creation and performance. With Company X’s highly qualified workforce and culture of ongoing improvement, Company X serves as an example of how good people management promotes innovation. This study establishes the groundwork for further research, encouraging ongoing innovation and enhancement of organisational procedures.

Quality Improvement in the Automotive Components Industry by Innovative 3D Scanner Solution | Chapter 1 | Research and Developments in Engineering Research Vol. 7

This work aims to evolve and validate a solution for control of product quality in the automotive industry while attractive full advantage of the concerning details factors given by the equipment secondhand. It deals with researching and administering a three-dimensions (3D) scanning in of documents in product quality listening tasks of a door committee manufacturing process. Pilot studies were carried out to evaluate the real capabilities of the supplies and determine questions that could arise when climbing the process for a real result of car door panels. The exercise and final results are also illustrated in this work, show that it is possible to develop a adaptable equipment accompanying multiple applications and administer it in the automotive industry.

Study on the Challenge of Conservation of Strategic Change: A Case of Alliance Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi | Chapter 7 | Current Approaches in Science and Technology Research Vol. 14

 There was a global financial and business catastrophe last year. Small and medium-sized businesses are increasingly failing, and the majority of them are attempting to produce the necessary profit to stay afloat. Furthermore, it has been discovered that this crisis is affecting large corporations that have either gone bankrupt or are on the verge of doing so. The following project will present and analyse Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi's strategic alliance. The existing external environment and the decision's drivers are discussed. The new tendencies in the automotive sector toward mobility, connection, and green products are examined in further detail. The alliance's model, as well as the results in terms of sales and development, are also given. During the preceding year, the three companies established a new cooperative scheme based on the "Leader-Follower" business model. This technique is also presented in a critical light. After that, a SWOT analysis is performed, and recommendations for future tactics are produced. The goal of this article is to look at the three firms' merger strategy and see how far a vision of transformation, of a better scenario, can be built. Also, to see if Renault, Nissan, and Mitsubishi would be able to compete effectively in domestic, hourly, and international markets as a result of their growing market share.
