Mathematical Modelling in Management of Railways Timetable Based on Circulation Scheme and Rescheduling Approach | Chapter 8 | Mathematics and Computer Science: Research Updates Vol. 2

In each country, the railway system plays an important role in transporting goods and human beings. In India, for example; Railways are accountable for 30% of the transportation of the total number of goods. In this chapter, an integer linear programming model was discussed on the basis of the fixed departure or arrival of trains, in the case of the original timetable and corresponding circulation scheme. The main objective of this chapter is to optimize the circulation scheme in order to get more connections, especially without changing the direction of the trains.

Investigating the Causal Relationship between Transportation Infrastructure and Economic Growth: Empirical Evidence from Saudi Arabia| Chapter 1 | Current Aspects in Business, Economics and Finance Vol. 9

The transport subdivision is an essential factor of business-related activity, as it contributes straightforwardly to economic projects and employment. Indirectly, the highway impacts all the other sectors and exercises in the economy. High-bulk transport infrastructure and very connected road networks are signs of high levels of incident. The study aims to analyze the duty of the transport sector in Saudi Arabia's development. It still looks into the links 'tween road land and Saudi Arabia's financial development. The study is based on subordinate data acquired from the World Bank and Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency between 1988 and 2017. The friendship between the variables and the Akiake Lag Length Selection Information Criteria was examined utilizing the Granger causality test. A Vector Autoregression (VAR) model was working to establish origin. The outcome reveals unidirectional origin from real GDP to the boulevard; however, skilled is no evidence to support that transportation infrastructure is the cause of business-related growth. Granger origin from GDP to investment in foundation indicates that reinvestment in infrastructure is made by economic progress, not vice versa. Economic tumor put additional strain on existent transportation foundation, necessitating supplementary investment. The finding is compatible with the widely grasped belief that business-related growth or development offers the necessary financial and mechanics support for transportation foundation investment and improvement.

Municipal Solid-Waste Management | Book Publisher International

This book dealt with external solid- waste operation. This book is timely in bringing together the external solid waste compositions and characterization, their collection, transportation and treatment procedures to achieve sustainable waste operation. The operation of solid waste remains a challenge in a great number of countries around the world. therefore, these practices include open dumps that are inaptly controlled and unlawful roadside jilting, have the eventuality to degrade scenic rates, damage soil and water coffers, and produce possible health problems for those who are exposed to them.

Analysis of the Fuel Economy and Carbon Dioxide Emissions of a Heavy-Duty Vehicle in Part of a Driving Cycle | Chapter 10 | Research Developments in Science and Technology Vol. 8

A heavy-duty vehicle's fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions are investigated in relation to the weight it is carrying, the slope of the road it travels on, and its speed. In the course of a driving cycle, a heavy-duty vehicle provides these final two variables. The heavy-duty vehicle weighs 14.742 tonnes empty, has a 10-gear transmission, and an engine with a maximum torque and power of 2100 Newton metres and 455.261 horsepower, respectively. The driving cycle is one method the US Environmental Protection Agency employs to electronically verify the fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions of heavy-duty vehicles. There are two scenarios that are examined. In the first, a truck is hauling a 15-ton weight along a straight route. In the second case, the car is hauling a 25-ton weight while travelling down a 2° incline. The forces acting on the vehicle are first computed. The required engine torque to drive the vehicle is then obtained, and ultimately, the fuel use, fuel efficiency, and carbon dioxide emissions are assessed. The authors' computer software, UAMmero, is used to calculate the results. The investigation led to several suggestions for how to operate a heavy-duty truck more efficiently and with lower carbon dioxide emissions.

The Energy-saving Measurements of On-land Transportation in Taiwan: An Advanced Study | Chapter 4 | Issues and Development in Health Research Vol. 3

The optimization of energy-saving and carbon-reduction techniques is addressed and discussed in this article. For a country's economy, transportation is one of the most essential sources of money and labour. In recent years, the gradual depletion of fossil fuels, as well as the looming threat of global warming, have had an influence on human civilizations and ecosystems. On-land transportation's primary objective is to convey people. According to data, total passenger automobile energy consumption accounts for 70% of total on-land transport energy consumption and 50% of overall energy consumption in the transportation industry in Taiwan.

A Study on the Current Trends and Evolution of IoT | Chapter 1 | Current Approaches in Science and Technology Research Vol. 8

The Internet of Things (IoT) plays a significant influence in contemporary trends. As the Internet of Things (IoT) has grown in popularity, there has been a major study focus on how IoT may meet the needs or requirements of current trends. Healthcare, business analysis, financial analysis, civil works, transportation sectors, and other vital areas with a lot of study are the most significant. As we can see, the locations indicated are heavily frequented by the general population, and so the need for the evolution has risen dramatically, with high expectations. This assessment will aid new academics in identifying existing technologies and obstacles so that they can continue their study in the field. We have discussed the evolution of IoT in the relevant sectors in this chapter. We also look at some of the obstacles of adopting IoT in the energy sector, such as privacy and security, as well as possible solutions, such as block chain technology.

Identification and Assessment of Physical Transportation Infrastructure Vulnerable to Sea Level Rise | Chapter 5 | New Ideas Concerning Science and Technology Vol. 7

The aim of this study was to create a methodology for evaluating the possible impacts of sea level rise (SLR) on Florida's state transportation system in order to help the state prepare for the future. Because of its coastal proximity and low elevation, Florida is one of the most vulnerable areas in the world to climate change due to thermal expansion of the ocean and melting ice caps, all of which result in rising ocean levels. The proposed approach combines the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) information system, satellite imagery, local roadway and hydrologic data with existing topographical and geographical data to generate SLR projections that will help with I evaluating current and projected SLR impacts on transportation infrastructure along Florida's coastline and low-lying terrain areas, and ii) evaluating current and projected SLR impacts on transportation infrastructure along Florida's coastline and low-lying terrain areas. The technique was tested using a detailed case study in Dania Beach, Florida, and a comparable example in Punta Gorda, Florida. Further study was carried out in order to establish a preliminary assessment of the effect of groundwater levels as a contributing factor to sea level rise. Storm surge with SLR is a more complex area to investigate in the future. As more data becomes accessible, it is critical to integrate adaptive management processes into the planning process. For planning purposes, estimates of how much these adaptive processes would cost were included. Priorities and sequence are local problems that need input from the local community.

A Prudence Introspection of Road Accident Prediction through Deep Learning | Chapter 8 | Emerging Trends in Engineering Research and Technology Vol. 4

The research is based on the vehicle mishaps venture to gather and structure a dynamic, secure transportation lamentably vehicle crashes were unavoidable. The accident prediction related to the risky environment data collection and arrangements based on highest priority of reality of accidents. The social activity and roadway structures are useful in the progression of traffic security control approach. We accept that to secure the best possible setback decline impacts with constrained budgetary resources, it is fundamental that measures  be  set up  on coherent and objective studies of the explanations behind mishaps and seriousness of wounds. A survey based on the different algorithms able to predict the road accident prevention methods. This paper exhibits a couple of models to predict the reality of harm that occurred in the midst of car accidents using three artificial intelligent approaches (AI). The proposed scheme contributes a neural system prepared utilizing decision trees and fluffy c implies clustering methodology for division.
