Post-traumatic OS Odontoideum: A Rare Anomaly that can have a Deleterious Effect| Chapter 12 | New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 8

This stage highlights about post-frightening os odontoideum. Os odontoideum is a rare condition defined radiographically as an elliptical or round-shaped ossicle of changing size with smooth encircling cortical margins characterizing the odontoid process that has no continuity with the crowd of C2. This rare dispassionate condition can be of interest to many healing professionals who are complicated in traumatology, as it may be in the direction of association with different post-traumatic pathologies, sitting differential and complex demonstrative and treatment problems. Since various key structures pass about one another in the upper cervical sleep-inducing or numbing drug area, that is quite complex anatomically, it is crucial to return this subject.  We present a case of a 28 years traditional female, generally healthful, who presented to the E.R. following in position or time obtaining a cervical injury in a car accident when she was hit from behind. On station she was found outside the auto that was hit by a truck, GCS was 11. If a person suffers from energetic mobile dens on account of insufficiency of allure ligamentous complex, it may cause translation of the chart of geographic area on the axis and can compress the cervical cord or vertebral channels. There are cases where cases suffering from Os odontoideum enhanced quadriplegic after a minor injury. This lesion customarily presents in pediatric population and its cause is widely controversial today. The most current analysis of Os odontoideum is presented in our disclosure, along with a record of what happened of a young woman the one was identified with the condition and the procedures acted to inspect, stabilise, and eventually treat her. Minor trauma in undiagnosed cervical instability power end in catastrophic affecting animate nerve organs insult, hence is the importance of early disease and treatment. The law of treatment search out prevent sudden death from affecting animate nerve organs compromise, improve the affecting animate nerve organs status, stabilize the cervical backbone, and improve the character of life.

Spontenous Spinal Subdural Hemorrage in Dengue: A Rare Case Presentation | Chapter 16 | Research Developments in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

In this member we highlight the spontaneous subdural bleed in dengue fever, that miss lead us as Cancer on MRI and no any review of literature acted not report any cases of SSDH with SAH as a giving feature of dengue fever. Spinal subdural hemorrhage is intensely rare thoroughly cases of spontaneous spinal bleed (epidural, subdural, and intramedullary hemorrhage). Bleeding diathesis is a common Dengue frenzy complication, as are different systemic complications to a degree renal toxicity, heart failure, shock, and electrolyte abnormalities. Dengue turmoil with neurological confusions is extremely exceptional, occurring in only 1% of patients.  A 52-old age-old female patient presented accompanying acute onset of growing bilateral lower appendage weakness accompanied with difficulty in micturition and headache for a 5-day event. She also had a past of fever prior to lower appendage weakness and headache. Clinical test revealed grade 2 motor capacity in both lower appendages, absent deep tendon effect, and equivocal Babinski’s reflex. There was no positive sensory required. Postoperatively, the patient got better after the hematoma was distant. One unusual form of dengue fever is willing SDH with SAH. It's crucial to act fast to stop permanent affecting animate nerve organs deficits.

Full Spine X-Ray Examination: Experience Outcome| Chapter 13 | Perspective of Recent Advances in Medical Research Vol. 1

The aim concerning this work is to provide a plain and detailed contract to perform full backbone X-ray examination in disease and follow-up of AIS, direcrtly relevant in essence.Ionizing radiations, even at low doses, present reactions that are well known as girls and young girls constitute the most realistic individuals from X-ray guardianship point of view.On the other side full backbone radiography is the gold standard in disease and follow-up of AIS, where things involved are usually girls and young women. For these reasons, a distinguishing care performing X-ray examination in this place scope, is necessary. Our protocol rises from 8y experience in use and study of the scoliosis in the first two decades of life, joining the orthopaedist’s requirements and the surgical requirements in addition to the care to the particular category made up the plurality individuals complicated, which require a specifically significant relational feature. For a better utility and clarity, we thought-out three main topics: a) single test b) examination all the while orthotic treatment and c) pre-op control. For each one we explained number and type of X-ray view secondhand and how we acted them with the assistance of itemized figures.By comparing X-ray images before and following in position or time the application of our agreement, we saw a significant increase in the feature of the produced countenances as well as a positive response from patients and persons acceptance. An extended cooperation between the Orthopaedic Surgeon and the Radiographer, has led to a clear bettering in technical killing and in an exposure dose decline. Furthermore a particular consideration to the patient’s comfort, along with some mechanics stratagems, led to an reconstructing effectiveness of the services provided.

An Experience in a Single Hospital in the City of São Paulo, Brazil: Epidemiology of Metastatic Lesions and Aggressive Benign Lesions Affecting the Spine | Chapter 10 | Highlights on Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 12

The goal of this study is to determine the occurrence of metastatic lesions in the spine, as well as to diagnose and stage them.

Materials and Procedures: This study covered patients with metastatic lesions in the spine, either single or double locations, that could be treated surgically. Between July 2014 and July 2016, 67 cases were reviewed at the Hospital Santa Marcelina – Itaquera's orthopaedics outpatient clinic. Sex, age, tumour site, number of lesions, neurological condition, tumour type, and the occurrence of fractures were the variables studied.

The study enlisted the participation of 34 males and 33 women. The lumbar spine was the most severely affected, with L2 being the most severely affected, followed by L1 and L3. The primary tumour that revealed secondary implants in the column was breast cancer, followed by prostate cancer. The average age of the participants was 53 years old. The vertebral bodies of 45 individuals were fractured. We discovered abnormalities in 18 individuals and just 01 A Frankel while examining neurological changes.

Conclusion: All patients treated for primary tumours who have axial pain or have cracked vertebrae should be thoroughly examined, including imaging of the entire spine, because the spine is affected by 40-50 percent of metastatic distant lesions.
