Enhancing Happiness through Mindfulness, Gratitude, and Journaling: Insights from a Student Study | Chapter 11 | Digital Crossroads: Integrating Humanities, Science and Technology Edition 1

This study investigates the impact of daily activities, relationships, mindfulness, gratitude, and journaling practices on happiness and overall well-being, proposing key influences in each area. We focus on four main hypotheses: Hypothesis 1 posit that daily activities and relationships significantly affect happiness ratings; Hypothesis 2 suggests that mindfulness practices enhance mental well-being; Hypothesis 3 indicates a correlation between gratitude practice and improved mood and overall well-being; and Hypothesis 4 anticipates that journaling positively contributes to nurturing happiness. This manuscript explores how targeted practices impact personal well-being. This manuscript examines the roles of dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins, evaluating their correlation with self-reported happiness, relationship satisfaction, and mindfulness outcomes. The study evaluates practices such as gratitude journaling, mindfulness exercises, and effective time management strategies to gauge their influence on students' focus, mood, and life satisfaction. Additionally, we examine the relationship quality's effect on happiness and whether mindfulness fosters mental resilience and relaxation. A structured course called "Happiness & Well-Being (22MN6HS103)" at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, with 153 students did the study to find out how certain practices affect student's mental and physical health.

Key findings reveal that gratitude journaling, mindfulness exercises, and effective time management strategies significantly influence students' focus, mood, and life satisfaction. Additionally, relationship quality plays a vital role in happiness, while mindfulness fosters mental resilience and relaxation. Biological factors, including dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins, were examined to understand their correlation with self-reported happiness, relationship satisfaction, and mindfulness outcomes.

The study's significance extends beyond the academic setting, offering broader implications for educational policy, mental health strategies, and future research on integrating structured well-being practices into daily routines. It highlights the transformative potential of targeted interventions to enhance students' happiness and overall well-being, paving the way for a more holistic approach to education and mental health.

The Aroma of Self-love: A Comparative Study of Western and Eastern Views | Chapter 8 | Recent Research Advances in Arts and Social Studies Vol. 7

The two sides of a coin are life and love. However, love does not always take the same form. It can take on various forms and colours, and as a result, sometimes it smells beautiful like flowers and other times it takes on destructive qualities. One can channel both self-love and narcissism. This essay aims to compare and contrast the perspectives of two civilizations with respect to their conceptions of narcissism. The colour of self-love is expressed differently in both cultures. While in eastern ideas it is the meaning of life, hope, and ways to let go of pent-up emotions, in western concepts it is seen as the means of the self-rearing process. The ideas of Jung and Rabindranath Tagore about narcissism and spiritual existence are taken into consideration in order to comprehend the various vibrations of narcissism in other civilizations. Investigating the past and delving into Jung's theories, one finds that narcissism is the fundamental energetic function of self-presentation or the secret to the formation of a stable self, in his view. According to Tagore, the knowledge that one's spiritual being originates from one's existence in this world. Giving of oneself to others genuinely aids in figuring out the route to one's own happiness.

Study on Structural Relationships among the Factors Affecting Happiness of Adolescent in OECD Countries: Application of QCA Method | Chapter 7 | Modern Perspectives in Language, Literature and Education Vol. 7

The goal of this research is to look into the causal linkages between major educational parameters and teenage happiness, as well as to suggest policy recommendations for OECD countries looking to improve their levels of adolescent happiness. The HSBC score of adolescent happiness in OECD nations was chosen as an indicator, and a variety of independent variables were included in the analysis, such as per capita GDP and per capita educational expenditure amount. The QCA (Qualitative Comparative Analysis) approach was employed for the analysis. The application of QCA in teenage happiness studies has been infrequent, and there are likely to be conceptual and paradigmatic barriers to its usage. In some cases, adoption is an option. According to the data, TEPC*GDP*PUPTEA, tee*GDP*PRIVATEXP, and tee*tepc*gdp*privatexp are three major elements that contribute to teenagers' high levels of happiness in OECD countries. In other words, while a few more steps are needed to arrive at a more compact formulation, the answer in this study provides six configurations and three prime implicants. The first prime implicant is TEPC (high total per capita education expenditure)*GDP (high per capita GDP)*PUPTEA (high total per capita education expenditure)*PUPTEA (high total per capita education expenditure)*PUPTEA (high total per capita education expenditure)*PUPTEA (high total per capita education expenditure) (high ratio of students to teaching staff). tee is the second suspect (low total expenditure on education) *GDP (high per capita income) gdp)*PRIVATEXP gdp)*PRIVATEXP gdp)*PRI (high ratio of private source expenditure on education to gdp). Finally, tee(low total education expenditure)*tepc(low total per capita education expenditure)*gdp(low per capita gdp)*privatexp is the third implicant (low ratio of private source expenditure on education to gdp). It is critical to emphasise that the findings presented in this study are merely indicative and should be seen in context. Instead of being a limitation of QCA, alternative causal configurations are appropriate for the complexity of teenagers' enjoyment.
