The Challenges of Cesarean Delivery at Teaching Hospital Gabriel Toure, Bamako Mali | Chapter 1 | Medical Science: Trends and Innovations Vol. 9

Introduction: Cesarean permits to treat difficulties related to vaginal delivery and risk situations of fetal asphyxia. It also permits to save the mother and fetus. However, in developing countries as ours, complications related to this cesarean are not to be neglected. It constitutes an important cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. Here, the experience of the structure of complications of cesarean is reported.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to study the complications of cesarean section at the teaching hospital Gabriel TOURE, Bamako, Mali.

Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional analytic study from January 1st 2003 to December 31st 2013 was carried out. All the patients who gave birth by cesarean operation in the gynecology-obstetric service of the teaching hospital Gabriel TOURE were included during this period of study. Descriptive statistics were used, Chi-square test, Pearson, and Cochran Armitage test have been used to calculate the P-value of trend. A multivariate analyses with a high alpha threshold of 10%, and then logistic regression multivariate was performed. It has been applied to appreciate the effect of maternal characteristics, obstetric practice, systemic factors, on the cesarean delivery rate and the complications.

Results: We have registered 28,376 deliveries with 9509 cases of cesarean (33.5%) and a complication cesarean rate of 32% (3049/9509). The main risk factors for cesarean operation completions were adolescence, primiparity, obesity, the non-realization of antenatal care, evacuations and co-morbidities. Intraoperative complications were dominated by hemorrhage 8.3% and bladder lesion 1.1%, whereas anemia (58.8%) and parietal infection (21.1%) dominated the postoperative complications table. The evacuation (Odds Ratio adjusted (ORa) = 1.96) as well as pre-eclampsia/eclampsia (ORa = 2.34) and the sickle cell disease (ORa = 9.99) were the main influencing factors of maternal death. Praevia placenta (ORa = 1.75) abruption placenta (ORa = 11.08) and fetal malformation (ORa = 2.21) dominated the influencing factors of perinatal death. Conclusion: The cesarean complications rates were high in our improvement of the quality of antenatal care. The reorganization and revitalization of the reference and against reference system will permit the program some cesarean operations to reduce the morbidity related to cesarean.

An Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis Patient with Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Case Report | Chapter 5 | Advanced Concepts in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 1

Tuberculosis has many means that may lead to hypercoagulable state and can bring about thromboembolic complications. It may be a conceivably life-threatening condition. The physician's awarness concerning this disease condition is main to an early diagnostic suspicion and prompt situation to prevent critical outcomes. Among the various snags reported expected caused by tuberculosis (TB), throm- bogenic potential is a exceptional entity. Here, we report a case of colonic tuberculosis in a 30-period-old male the one developed left superior limb deep mood thrombosis (DVT). Ruling out other likely causes of DVT and improvement of the distressed limb with antitu- bercular drugs experienced to conclusion that DVT was possible due to TB.

Procalcitonin Level Recommendation as a Predictive Biomarker for Post-Operative Complication in Colorectal Cancer | Chapter 8 | New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science Vol. 6

Although it can not be supported in after second hospitals, specifically in developing nations, C-sensitive protein (CRP) has been issued as a new biomarker parameter of post-active complications and has once been widely used in routine dispassionate practice. Early research found that when anticipating the post-operative depression following major gastrointestinal incision, the sensitivity and precision of the CRP level are better predictive indicators than the WBC level unique.During major gastrointestinal medical procedure (resection of colorectal malignancy), anastomosis leak was reported in 7 to 10% of cases. Clinical judgments in the early stages of anastomosis leak are frequently lacking to establish this difficulty and are occasionally incorrect as post-operative pain. Procalcitonin (PCT) is individual of the potential biomarkers that has been announced currently as a post-operative problem examination.

A Brief Overview on Postmastectomy Lymphedema| Chapter 8 | Current Overview on Disease and Health Research Vol. 11

Mastectomy accompanying feathered lymph node thorough analysis is the surgical process of choice necessary for feelings malignancy situation, and women are naive to expanding upper appendage edema, famous as lymphedema. It is thought-out a potential complication accompanying harsh consequences on the quality of existence of wives, affecting individual in four mastectomies in daughters, and inducing functional degeneration, emotional distress, and interferences in their quality of growth. It is wanted for fear that the development of lymphedema in mothers subsequently mastectomy by breast malignancy.

A Pictorial Review on Acute Pancreatitis: Definitions and Diagnosis | Chapter 6 | Emerging Trends in Disease and Health Research Vol. 8

The goal of the current study is to assess the early pancreatic fluid collections seen on MRI after acute pancreatitis. The pancreas, peripancreatic tissues, and other distant organs are frequently affected by the common inflammatory illness known as acute pancreatitis. According to the revised Atlanta categorization from 2012, acute pancreatitis can be mild, moderately severe, or severe. Significant changes have been made to the classification's nomenclature for acute fluid collection. The study also sought to: via computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, present an image-rich overview of several morphologic aspects of early-stage (within 4 weeks following symptom start) local sequelae related to acute pancreatitis; to assist the implications for gastrointestinal surgery, to facilitate communication among treating doctors, to clarify complex imaging concepts for pancreatic fluid collections, and to emphasise standardised reporting nomenclature. On the basis of the related morphologic descriptions, radiologists should be fully conversant with the standardised imaging terminology. It is crucial to direct implications of care plans for patients with acute pancreatitis. It is also necessary for correct documentation and reporting of academic research.

Case Report: The Correction of Post Filler Complication on the Lips (Old Granulomas) with Plasma Exeresis| Chapter 9 | New Frontiers in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 15

The goal of this article is to educate the medical community on how to use the Plasma Exeresis method to cure tough patients. Plasma Exeresis is a unique technology that produces the fourth state of matter, Plasma. In a nutshell, Plasma Exeresis is a cordless micro-surgical hand-operated equipment that is certified. Plasma Exeresis sublimates the epidermis without passing through the basal membrane, shrinks the elastic fibres of the dermis, and creates collagen type III without the undesirable skin lesion, according to histological data. We can correct fibrosis and granules employing Plasma Exeresis in combination with the above process (and other medical lesions e.g. xanthelasmas, hemangioma, non-invasive blepharoplasty, papilloma, fibroma, benign tumors, etc.). It also hastens the repair of damage, the softening of wrinkles, and the regeneration of skin fibres. The case study that follows can be described as difficult and demanding, especially given the extent of the harm. The patient was a 55-year-old lady who had previously received failed treatment. The incident occurs in Greece. Lip fillers made of an unknown substance were the source of the problem. The negative effects (granules) (as seen in the photographs below) were paired with a 15-year depression condition. Many doctors (even plastic surgeons) thought the granules were insurmountable, but the Plasma Exeresis approach proved to be quite effective in the end. As a result, Plasma Exeresis might be thought of as a novel way for healing and restoring difficult instances.

The goals of this study, which are focused on the lips (although further research has been done on other regions of the face), could not be remedied until recently due to filler complications such as nodules. Plasma Exeresis is capable of providing a solution to such issues when one previously did not exist.
