Tagetes pusilla Kunth Essential Oil: Color and Composition in a Fresh and Stored Sample | Chapter 7 | Novel Aspects on Chemistry and Biochemistry Vol. 6

Tagetes pusilla Kunth (serrano anise or anís del monte) of fine scent and flavor, is a temporary dryland native plant species establish at 2600 masl in Inviola, Imbabura province in the Ecuadorian Andes. The essential oil was acquired by the fumes stripping method and the composition in new and stored samples by vapor chromatography-mass spectrophotometer (GC/MS). Results show that the extraction period positively influences the oil yield got. The analysis of the changeable fraction of the fresh sample disclosed 12 components that show 99.22%, highlighting Anethole (68.02%), Estragole (24.52%) and Germacreno D 2.69%); and, in the stocked sample that represents 100% of the parts with eight meanings where Trans Anethole (47.22%), Anisole, p-propenyl (31.51%) stand out. ), p-Anisaldehyde (12.59%) and p-Anisylacetate (4.3%) accompanying evident color change from light greenish yellow (new sample) to strong greenish yellow (stocked sample), assessed utilizing the CIE-Lab methodology. Components and flavorings enhance base materials for use in pharmacology, cosmetics, feed, agriculture, and different industries; Therefore, it is a field to complete activity immediate executive conduct for its use and development.

Using Eco-friendly Ultrasound Waves for High-Performance Cotton Dyeing with Direct Dyes | Chapter 7 | Recent Progress in Science and Technology Vol. 9

Direct dyes are the most widely used dyes for cotton fabric, but their drawback includes low washing wet fastness, alkali demand, and time and energy demand. This study treated cotton fabrics with ultrasound at powers from 0-250 watts for periods from zero to 60 min. Globar solution in concentrations ranging from 0-30g/l was used as a treatment medium. The samples dyed at room temperature (25oC) without salt after being exposed to ultrasound energy for 30 min had shown comparable results to the conventionally dyed pieces that were treated with 30g/l Globar salt for 30 min at 90oC. Moreover, the results showed some enhancements in the fastness of washing, rubbing, and light, as well as CIE color components ‘L' brightness, 'a' red-green, and 'b' yellow-blue components. The results also showed that the samples dyed with ultrasound acquired more color than the normal dyeing method, where the color change (∆E) was 119 and 102, respectively. More over the dyeing at room temperature and for a much shorter time when it compared to the conventional technique.

Study on Quantum Color Theory | Chapter 10 | New Trends in Physical Science Research Vol. 6

The hue of the light that an item reflects determines its colour. Thus, colour is not a quality of the thing itself but rather of the light that illuminates it; things are only "colour thieves." The Snell-Descartes law of reflection, on the other hand, stipulates that the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection for reflected light. According to this law, only viewers at particular locations are able to discern an object's hue. We all understand, however, that this is untrue, as any observer, from any viewpoint, can see the colour of the item. In this study, we then introduce a novel spectroscopic-based technique for characterising an object's colour: White light from the sun is absorbed by the object's atoms, which subsequently radiate at a frequency specific to the object's hue. We shall be able to describe several phenomena relating to object colour that the classical description cannot account for thanks to the quantum colour theory.
