The Impact of Geographical Factors on the Respiratory Health of Workers in the Biri and Tea Gardens Located in West Bengal, India | Chapter 7 | Current Innovations in Disease and Health Research Vol. 6

 The basic aim of this study is to decide the impact of geographical factors on the respiring health of laborers of the biri and tea flowers. Occupational hazards are common among small roll of tobacco and tea garden clerks. Individual physicians might take advantage of using GIS for demographic reasoning to estimate demand for various sorts of services. GIS has helped the healthcare business in the same manner that it has supported other customer service firms in directing assets and stick. The technique included field surveys, shared sessions with workers, lung function testing, dossier input, and the analysis of liberated and dependent dossier, as well as the construction of indexes. Seasonal healing camps with spirometers for pulmonary function testing were grasped. Environmental conditions were studied utilizing air samplers. With enough diversification, the detected and judged issues can be prevented from flattering harmful. Occupational Hazards Related to Dental Practice and Preventive Measures: An Overview | Chapter 07 | Issues and Developments in Medicine and Medical Research Vol. 9

 The occupational dangers associated with the profession of dentistry are highlighted in this review. Hazards are classified based on primary sources of risk by system or tissue, as well as by dental office location (dental chair, laboratory, sterilisation area, x-ray developing area). The general practise setting, specific materials and tools that expose the operator to vision and hearing risks, chemical substances with known allergenic, toxic, or irritating properties, increased microbial counts and silica particles in aerosols produced during tooth preparation and restoration removal, ergonomic considerations that may affect the provider's musculoskeletal system, and psychological considerations are all potentially hazardous factors. As part of dentistry education, the identification and eradication of these risk factors should be incorporated into a routine practise management programme. Professional organisations can also help practitioners become more aware of potential hazards and how to address them.

Studies on Current Health and Safety Practices and Their Impact on Accidents on Nigerian Construction Sites | Chapter 5 | Advanced Aspects of Engineering Research Vol. 8

 Accidents on construction sites in Nigeria have had and continue to have terrible consequences for property and employees' lives, as well as impeding the timely and cost-effective completion of projects. However, there has been little progress in addressing this essential issue. Hundreds of construction workers are killed each year on Nigerian building sites, and many more are injured or incapacitated for the rest of their lives. As a result, a study was conducted on experts' impressions of existing health and safety (H&S) practises on Nigerian building sites. A quantitative method was adopted, with possible respondents filling out a survey questionnaire. A total of 150 questionnaires were sent, and 100 replies were gathered, resulting in a response rate of 66.6 percent. The data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics to indicate that poor H&S practises can be found on Nigerian construction sites, including a lack of stakeholder commitment to safety, a lack of governmental backing, little or no diligence in enforcing safety rules on site, and a lack of safety education programmes. Accidents can also be linked to a variety of factors, including non-compliance with safety rules, worker irresponsibility, poor site coordination, and an ineffective safety culture. Many Nigerian projects still perform poorly in terms of safety. Because the reasons of construction accidents in Nigeria are numerous, actions from a wide range of stakeholders are required to solve the problem. Governments, professional organisations, and contractors all have a role to play in making improvements.
