Evaluation of the In-vitro Anti- Inflammatory Activity of Nerium oleander Flower Extract by Using Protein Denaturation Method in India | Chapter 5 | Advanced Concepts in Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 8

In this present study anti-inflammatory potential of Nerium Oleander was investigated. Unpleasant side effects associated with prolonged use of current anti-inflammatory drugs have necessitated a need for new drugs with limited side effects. Plants rich in antioxidants have been suggested as potential sources of anti-inflammatory compounds. The intricate biological reaction of vascular tissues to damaging stimuli, such as infections, damaged cells, or irritants, includes inflammation. Its symptoms include redness, swelling, discomfort, stiffness, and loss of joint function. NSAIDs are currently used to treat inflammation. Unfortunately these drugs cause increased risk of blood clot resulting in heart attacks and strokes. Therefore, the developments of potent anti-inflammatory drugs from the natural products are now under considerations. Natural products are rich source for discovery of new drugs because of their chemical diversity. A natural product from medicinal plants plays a major role to cure many diseases associated with inflammation. The conventional drug available in the market to treat inflammation produces various side-effects. Based on the resulted the ethonolic extract of the flowers showed the highest anti inflammatory activity. The increments in absorbance of test samples with respect to control indicated stabilization of protein i.e. inhibition of heat-induced protein (albumin) denaturation by Nerium oleander and reference drug diclofenac sodium. The anti-inflammatory activity was found to be concentration dependent and may be attributed to the presence of phytochemicals content in the flowers of Nerium oleander. Over all, It can be concluded that Nerium oleander possessed marked anti-inflammatory effect against the denaturation of protein.

Recent Development and Validation of Tolperisone HCl and Diclofenac Sodium in Bulk and Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms by Using RP HPLC Method | Chapter 5 | Advanced Concepts in Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 7

High-performance liquid chromatography is at present one of the most sophisticated tools for analysis. The estimation of Tolperisone HCl and Diclofenac sodium was done by RP-HPLC. Tolperisone is an oral, centrally-acting muscle relaxant.  The Phosphate buffer was pH 3.0 and the mobile phase was optimized consisting of Methanol: Phosphate buffer mixed in the ratio of 70:30% v/ v. Inertsil C18 column C18 (4.6 x 150mm, 5µm) or equivalent chemically bonded to porous silica particles was used as stationary phase. The detection was carried out using a UV detector at 260 nm. The samples are weighed using the Afcoset ER-200A weighing balance. The solutions were chromatographed at a constant flow rate of 0.8 ml/min. the linearity range of Tolperisone HCl and Diclofenac sodium was found to be from 100-500 µg/ml of Tolperisone hcl and 1-5µg/ml of Diclofenac sodium. The linear regression coefficient was not more than 0. 999. The values of % RSD are less than 2% indicating the accuracy and precision of the method. The percentage recovery varies from 98-102% of Tolperisone HCl Diclofenac sodium. LOD and LOQ were found to be within the limit. The results obtained on the validation parameters met ICH and USP requirements.

The Conjecture of Analgesic Activity of Psidium guajava (L.) Implications of Fruit Extracts in Mice | Chapter 13 | Novel Aspects on Pharmaceutical Research Vol. 9

This important objective of this division is to devote effort to something the usefulness of common medical processes and herbal remedies concerning the healthcare system and by means of what they may be applied to address worldwide health care challenges. The best opportunities to synthetic painkillers are before accessible, and they are from plant-based everyday compounds. They engage in any of actions. Eddy's Hot plate, Tail Immersion, and Acetic Acid Induced Pain Models in Mice were used to evaluate the Aqueous Extract and Methanolic Extract of the Fruits of P. guajava. Different dosages of the extract (100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg) were given verbally by gastric gavage to P. guajava. It significantly (P 0.05) decreased the pain provoked by a hot plate (74.29%), a tail absorption (76.03%), and an abdominal shortening brought on by tart acid (73.92%), respectively. Its efficacy was raise to be prepared that of the common drugs pentazocin and diclofenac sodium. The extract of P. guajava holds flavonoids, tanins, and saponins, which are what present it its pain remover effects. According to the results, tannins and flavonoids two together contribute to the persuasive analgesic operation, making this a popular situation. These are the most productive tools for organizing and treating the pain remover action of PGs pathways.
